I used to live near a Dickies pre-Covid and went frequently, but boy have things changed. The cost has really gone up.
My boyfriend and I came in for lunch at noon on a Saturday. The place was empty and I thought they had just opened because the drink and condiment section looking like it was missing some things. Surprisingly they had already been open for an hour.
We ordered 2 two-meat plates ($18 ea), 2 drinks ($4 ea) and 4 extra cups of sauce ($0.75 EACH). Imagine my surprise when the bill came out to $50. Yes, $50 for LUNCH for 2 people at a casual dining establishment. When I got the receipt I was surprised to see that they charge for sauce now. The employee asked us "Which sauces would you like?". I thought they just kept them behind the counter (like at McDonald's) or they haven't put them out onto the condiment table yet. He never mentioned that our plate automatically comes with 1 original sauce, or that they now charge for them or that they're almost a dollar each. I also wanted to switch out my Texas toast for cornbread, but they didn't have any defrosted (thank goodness I wasn't able to since that would have been an upcharge too!).
Our food arrived quickly, but was cold. It arrived to us at room temperature, but with the cold sauce on top, it tasted like it just came out of the fridge. Things just continued to get worse. They brought out the wrong kielbasa for my boyfriend AND tried to short us a sauce (that we paid for!). The employee said he "didn't like the look of the other [jalepeno] sausage" so he brought out the normal kielbasa for him. Meaning they knew it was not what we ordered but tried to pass it to us anyway. After bringing up everything to his attention, he cooked us a new jalepeno sausage, brought an extra sauce (on top of the one we paid for) and gave us a frozen cornbread in apology.
I appreciate him trying to make it right at the end, but honestly there's nothing that could save this experience for me. I felt like the employees behavior overall was sloppy and the price was prohibitively expensive. If my choice is Dickeys BBQ or a nice sit down restaurant, I'm definitely going to choose the...
Read moreSpent Father’s Day for an early dinner with the family. Spent $75, ($50 in Gift Cards + $24.95 cash) for five adults. Cashier did not honor their advertised promotion of a “free” sandwich with the use of a $25 gift card, Cashier insisted the offer was only good if we presented a coupon...seriously? You would sacrifice a potential returning customer for a complimentary $3 pulled pork sandwich. Sent the side order of Green Beens back - burnt tasting and traded it for their Cabbage Slaw. Brisket was an absolute disappointment, cold, dry. Thank God they had BBQ sauce, but using masking tape to identify the different sauces on the container lids is pretty tacky. Ribs surprisingly fell off the bone but was cold. Is it asking too much to at least serve the food like warm? Daughter went to get a free Vanilla Cone, returned to the table and pointed out “black” spots around the top rim of her ice cream cone. Told her not to eat it. She broke off the bottom of the Cone to find “Black Mold” inside. Brought it to the Manager’s attention who was too busy and said she would be with me shortly, “I said, “No, you have to STOP serving Ice Cream now or someone is going to get sick”. I showed her the inside of the cone. The remaining box of cones were immediately removed. The Manager apologized for the inconvenience and stated that she tried to call her Boss but was unable to get him to answer her call. It appeared she was sincere and tried to make our experience salvageable. She returned to our table and handed me a hand written free meal for “one” on a register receipt. She again apologized for not having complementary coupons. Needless to say, but we will not be...
Read moreFood was cold Staff were not friendly at all! To top it off they forgot parts of my order and there were only 2 other customers in the restaurant when I was there. If there were busy god help the customer.
This is the second time they have messed up!
And at the store level they can’t issue refunds you have to go through a website to do it.
Horrible business and don’t go there!!!
Update—11-28-21 To this day I have not gotten my money back or an acknowledgment from the owner or regional director of this location.
I did receive correspondence from corporate for them but I was told that they are unable to provide a refund because this is individually owned store.
I realize it’s the holidays but it be nice if someone at least acknowledged me.
Update—12-2-21 As of today I have constantly going back-and-forth with the corporate office and being told that they can do nothing to help me. Because it’s an individually owned store I have to reach out to the owner or the area Director. I shouldn’t have to reach out to anybody, they should want to reach out to me to make this right. So now I’m having to wait to get information from corporate to be able to contact the owner or the area Director. I’ll let everyone know the outcome once I possibly get resolution.
Update--12-12-21 Spoke with Beth (an area director) and they are providing me a credit of $75 for the full order. All I have to do is call in and they will redo it for me. I am a very happy person and I am appreciative of BETH's effort! I am placing the order for New Years Eve. I will update everyone after that....
