Just left the restaurant on July 15th at noon. There was a gentleman sitting at a booth waiting for his to-go order and a couple of young ladies waiting for their order that they would be eating at the restaurant. The young man who was at the counter was too busy on the phone to acknowledge our presence. The gentleman waiting for his to-go order finally got up and got a bag himself and motioned towards the young man who worked there who was on the phone to get his order. He reluctantly bagged his burger and the man left. Meanwhile, the two ladies who were waiting their food to be delivered sat without it being brought as he was still too busy on the phone. Still no acknowledgement from him whatsoever. By this time another couple came into the store and got in line behind us. Still no acknowledgment from the man. Getting a little irritated I asked him. Did he work there and did he have plans on addressing his customers to which he replied? He was on an important call with corporate office. I responded to him that I think that corporate office would understand that he needed to service the customers in the restaurant at the time and that they would talk to him later to which replied. No, they are too important. I pointed out to him that he was letting the customers who already ordered food let it get called by not giving it to them and that there are now customers in the lobby waiting and online to order. While he spoke on the phone and told him I did not think corporate would think it was a priority and that he needed to service the guests to which he replied. I'm refusing you service now and no they would think that this phone call was more important than the guests in the restaurant. The people in line behind us were disgusted and left and so did we but not before letting the two girls sitting in the restaurant know that their food had been sitting in the window for quite some time without him serving it to them. I find his response and how the store was being run to be unacceptable and would like to know if this is how smashburger works in Avondale? If he was truly on the phone with corporate they would have heard me and The interchange between this employee and would have definitely not supported his responses. But I may be wrong as this may be how your...
Read moreVery dissatisfied with my visit to smash burger tonight. Tried ordering online with a 3rd party gift card and wouldnât work. So as a normal person would do, I called. A friendly man picked up the phone and I explained my situation that I couldnât order online with my 3rd party gift card. I asked if he would be able to accept it if I gave him the card numbers, unfortunately not, still very kind! But I wasnât going to give up there. I headed down to the McDowell store here in Avondale, AZ. Kind of crowded. With someone infront of me and someone behind me, the woman cashier that seemed fairly new did not come from the kitchen until 10 minutes after my arrival. The customer infront of me was served and I stepped forward. Once I explained my situation the cashier had asked for the card information and I gave it to her. after a few times trying, she went ahead and told me that the card information was showing up as incorrect although I had successfully checked the balance on it earlier. So something mustâve been wrong. 𤨠At this point I was fairly frustrated. I tried asking for the man that had answered the phone just 45 minutes earlier when I had called. Turns out he was working the grill and the cashier I was speaking to at the time I was inside the brick & motor was just hanging out whilst leaving the kind man working the grill to answer my call! What?! The lady that was giving me issues at the register had definitely not known what she was doing as she could not help me whatsoever and I walked out their location empty handed. Unfortunately I am disappointed because I love smashburger! They have very well food, Service as usual but unfortunately not tonight. I spent over 30 minutes in the store just ti walk out empty handed and about 1:15 minutes in total trying to figure out how to use my 3rd party gift card. Hopefully smashburger will notice and they can do something to compensate me for my wasted time tonight. đ Hopefully a more pleasant experience with my next visit. đ Looking at all these low star reviews, All the staff need to go under...
Read moreI've had Smashburger before and didn't remember much about it, but this recent trip definitely gave me something to remember. I placed the order online and the food was ready when we got there but we just had to wait another 7min or so for the shakes. The customer service was good and considering they were pretty busy as I overheard the cashier telling some people there would be about a 20-30min wait for their food, my 7min wait wasn't bad at all. That just further confirms that they make each order fresh and nothing is just sitting under a heat lamp. I got the Double Colorado Turkey Burger with sweet potato fries and a Non-Dairy Oreo Cookies & Cream Shake. All of it was absolutely delicious! The burger was super juicy and flavorful without being salty or too greasy. The only complaint I would have is the lettuce, tomato & onion weren't as crisp and fresh as I felt they should have been. I went home and added fresh crisp lettuce to the burger. The sweet potato fries were really good and generally I don't eat sweet potatoes but wanted to try something different. The shake was also delicious. If you're used to eating Non-Dairy ice cream you can tell it's almond milk ice cream but the taste is not off putting at all. It was well blended and not too thick or thin. My husband who isn't open to trying much of anything new or different tasted the shake and said it was good. It can get pricey but it's definitely worth it considering they have a variety of burgers (beef, turkey, veggie & black bean) and despite the name, 'SMASH'burger, their patties aren't all that smashed and are actually decent sized and juicy. Definitely up there with one of the best burgers I've ever had from a chain and I'll...
