Wok n roll — Restaurant in Ayer

I don’t usually leave reviews but this is the worst ordering experience I have ever had. First, the driver had trouble finding us (which is understandable even though we tried to give clear instructions) but even though we answered when he called and were standing outside, he started repeatedly honking all around our neighbor’s yard. We tell him to come next door and he says he sees us and then goes back to honking!!! At 9:30 at night!! Even if it had been the right house, excessively honking around at 9:30 at night is ridiculous. He then asked for payment when we had already paid online. He had to call the restaurant to confirm and the whole thing was confusing and uncomfortable. Then when we finally got to eating the food, my boyfriend’s meal which he had specifically requested no meat because he is a vegetarian, had both chicken and shrimp so he couldn’t eat it. I open my food and it is full of peanuts and I have a nut allergy. Nuts weren’t mentioned anywhere. So after upsetting our neighbors (and struggling to communicate with the driver) we also have no food that we can eat.

We ordered from Wok N Roll for New Years, understanding this is an extremely popular night for Chinese food we expected a wait. My husband arrived for pick up and stood in line with many other people who had also been waiting for hours, despite quoting 45 minutes on the phone. There was no one to even ask for help regarding the two hour wait. It had been 2 and a half hours from placing the order when he was finally able to speak to someone, who remembered taking his order but told him they did not it in the system. He had the phone call with the restaurant in his phone history, the girl even said she remembered taking his order but they could do nothing. He re-placed the order, because at this point there was no where else we could even get dinner. He was not even offered any discount for the immense inconvenience this has caused. This place is a hidden gem. It's easy to dismiss it as the menu may read like an average take out place, but three good reasons to order from this place: 1) Hot, delicious, fresh American Chinese take out, 2) Really friendly service by the family who runs the place, and 3) Really good prices.

They do noodles especially well. Even after delivery, the noodles arrive hot and fresh. It's a huge portion, you get plenty of meat and veggies, and it's almost half the price of other places around here.
