There are no ravioli, or dumplings, or any of the filled-dough items the place was supposed to be. When we asked about this, everyone was super cagey and changed the subject. We tried asking if there was a secret password for the secret ravioli menu but got nothing. So we ordered drinks and "world food" dishes.
Drinks: Transatlantic Trade was sorta like a mai tai but was waaaaaay too molasses forward. The ginger thing was all cinnamon and ginger and waaaay too dry; maybe I got the molasses that was supposed to be in it?
Food: The chicken and waffles was super dry, it needs a sauce or syrup. The Jackfruit Birria bowl was filled with great legumes and stuff but the whole bowl tasted of one flavor; it needed some acidic item to bring out the flavors. Also, IT HAD NO MEAT. "Birria is a regional variation of barbacoa from western Mexico, mainly made with goat, beef or lamb." Hello? At least the pork loin ramen was really good.
If the name of the place was at all linked to the food, and the dishes/drinks ingredients proportions were finished (seems like they got 80% there and stopped) it would be a great place. But if you're bored with knowing what you'll get, check it out. The service and presentations...
Read moreBRUNCH!!! Yes. I have been to The Ravioli Theory in Ayer a few times now and they never disappoint. Dinners are fantastic. Absolutely love the Lamb Meatballs. So much flavor. I could have these everyday and never get tired of them. I have tried all the flatbreads (shared). You cannot go wrong with any of them, so good. My favorite was the Turkish OG. The Ancient Grain Greek Salad has so much flavor. Did not share this. It was all mine. To we went for brunch. Again nothing was disappointing. I had the RT Benedict with chorizo. So much flavor. Others in my group had the Bodega Sandwich and the Breakfast Hash. Both were loved. The Bloody Mary was delicious. The staff are all friendly and the service is so good. So much fun trying food that has a twist added for flavors. A definite place to be tried and fall in love...
Read moreWe enjoyed ourselves and the food so much that zero photos were taken. We walked in and were immediately struck by the wonderful colors and inviting atmosphere in the bar room. We sat in the dining room which was also very comfortable and inviting. The service was lovely which mirrored the beverages and food. The lamb meatballs were exquisite as were the fingerling papayas bravas appetizers. Our entrees included the katsu chicken, braised lamb, smash burger & chicken and waffles. Everything was excellent and bursting with a lot of flavor. Portions were great as well. The Ravioli Theory is a great addition to the Ayer downtown. We can’t wait to come back to try the...
