Azle Cafe — Restaurant in Azle

Pains me to leave this review as I tend to only leave positive reviews. When I'm a little bit disappointed I don't bother leaving a negative review. But this place was so disappointing I have no choice.

I'm a very easy to please customer. The only part of this experience that was pleasant was the demeanor of the server and the young man who took my money at the end.

This was by far the worst breakfast I've ever paid for in my life. The food was minimal in portion, I had to actually question whether or not I got three eggs or not because they were so small. The two sausage patties were so unappetizing I questioned whether I should give them to my dogs or not. The bacon was the most unpleasant bacon Ive ever had. The orange juice tasted like it was watered down. My girl and I were both extremely disappointed with the portion and quality of the food. The only thing that was marginally good was the pancake she ordered.

I came here based on the Google reviews looking positive and wanting to support a local business as opposed to a box restaurant.

The only reason I gave them three stars was I don't want to hurt them too hard. But truly they only deserve one star for the food. The only redeeming quality was their friendly staff.

To whoever reviews this. I'm not exaggerating. Please take a look at the product that you're serving. It's not going to help you stay...

Great staff. I can speak more kindly of there staff. So amazing. Food was great. They really do feed u. The best thing was there sweet tea. Perfect balance of sweetness. EDIT: so while all of this is true don't go there for dinner. It's a great breakfast and lunch place. But we went for dinner last night and it was really really bad. Staff ignored us. There was only one other table. The waitress kept sitting down with someone in the corner talking. It was crazy.

Edit: Me and family went on a Monday. There was no one else in the entire restaurant. First waitress told us to set down anywhere and she will be with us shortly. Not a big deal at first. 15 min later asked for drink order with an additude and left. Normally they have the best sweet tea. It was really really bad this time. Sour. Then she left. She went home. Our next waitress was nice. We ordered. Two kids meal and two lunch specials. The chicken fried steak was really tough and dry and uneatable. The gravy could not help it. The side we're in little bowls and mostly water in the cabbage. There was only like 6 small piece floating in water. We paid our bill in full and left a tip. We won't be going back any time soon. It worst...

EDIT. Have been back several times since leaving my first initial review. Pictures below is the only item on the menu that’s of a larger size. We even order the hungry MAN platter and it was such a small amount of food we had to order 3 extra pancakes. The pancake that comes with the meal is the size of the palm of your hand and thin as all get out. Wanted blueberries added to those extra pancakes and there were 5 total in the entire thing. Super disappointed. Biscuits are always crunchy and dry, needed way more gravy than given which is really weird to me because they have a sign on the wall saying best biscuits??? . Also, the gravy isn’t traditional country style sausage gravy..... it had maybe 3 large chopped up pieces of sausage in the entire biscuit platter. I really wanted this place to be amazing after how good it was our first time but the constant let down each additional visit is pretty severe. We have officially decided not to give it any more..
