Wong's Express — Restaurant in Azle

Unfortunately, this was not a winner. Azle needs a good Chinese food place. I ordered two Lunch special, shrimp lo-mein. I was asked if I wanted white rice or fried rice. That should have been my first indication that something was wrong. I pointed it out to the person on the phone, lo-mein was the choice. They told me they offered lunch special with “no-rice” if that is what I want. Flag #2. They told me 15 minutes. I sat in my car as another customer walked up and gave their order through the crack of the door. About 5 mins later I saw the customer leave with their food. I thought they called ahead, which still might be true, but I walked up to see if my food was ready and too my surprise it was. Usually this is great news. The food was piping hot. I drove 5 miles to the house and opened the lunches up to enjoy with my wife. The noodles were so dry, I had to put some water on them to rehydrate them. My wife doesn’t complain, but she was now picking through the noodles. She grabbed a shrimp and after one bite, told me I could have hers. I tried the shrimp and they tasted old and had the texture of mud. I don’t know what happened, but maybe they froze old product and reheated it. I know it was a cheap lunch, but if I had to pay for freshness, I would. I try not to leave negative reviews, but these folks might want to go back to the...

UPDATE: THIS PLACE IS CLOSED BECAUSE IT FAILED HEALTH INSPECTION PER FTW STAR TELEGRAM everyone complaining about getting sick..because it was true. "Rodent feces found near bags of rice on the floor". It had to have been bad / everywhere

This place is awful. Was over charged 6$ as they manually enter price into card reader. Figured this out on my way out but let it go. Figured small business no biggie. Inside is sketch.. sure hole in the wall but if you question if they can pass a health inspection that isnt cool, against better judgement ordered anyway. Food was terrible. How they won best of a few years ago is beyond me but i can tell you why they arent winning it now. The food (at least pork products) appeared to have some red dye..some unnatural color to some of the food. Basically ate around things picked at it and wasted 41$ on 2 entrees and 2 apps. Complete waste of time and money and how they are still in business is the only amazing...

Omg BEST AUTHENTIC CHINESE FOOD EVER!!!! I love how it's family owned, and worked. They are so humble, kind and polite!!! My go to place for Asia cuisine!

How authentic you ask? When I walked in for the first time, years ago, their daughter was running the cash register. I believe I asked how old she was and she said "here I'm 8, in China I'm 10." Or the other way around, hard to recall but never forgot that moment.

I love their whole menu! It's so authenticly delicious!!! You got to try it. I usually get the house special lo mei (it has so many different kinds of meat in it mmmm), fried rice and sesame chicken. Large portions are more than enough to feed a whole family of 4, and maybe even have left overs. It's more of a pick-up place though. Not much room to sit and enjoy a meal there, on site, but the portions are so large, you'll want to just take it home 😉
