Wow!!! Just go! As we always do, we consulted Google maps when we found ourselves in a city we've never been, to help us decide what to have for dinner. The reviews for Pizzeria DiLauro convinced us that we must go. The set up is nice; as they have a dining room for families and also have the lounge next door for the 21+ crowd. We snagged two seats at the bar and were greeted quickly. One of the reasons we were drawn to this place was the reviews and photos of their house made meatballs. We quickly learned that their house made meatballs are only available on Wednesdays but the pizzas coming out of the kitchen looked incredible so we knew we were still going to have a great dinner. We chose the Luca pizza: pepperoni, pickled jalapenos and a drizzle of hot honey for good measure. The pizza was perfection! A beautiful, thin, crunchy crust, with a light sauce that let the toppings shine. I wouldn't change a thing about this pizza! The cocktails were well made and refreshing, as well.
Two things I'd recommend: go early on Friday if you want to avoid a wait. We got there at 4p and had no problem getting a seat. But when we left at 515p, there were at least 15 groups patiently waiting for a table. Second recommendation - get the homemade cannoli! We had the orange cream on this visit and WOW was it delicious!!
We will definitely be back - on a Wednesday to try the...
Read moreMy wife and I discovered DiLauro's when they worked out of a custom-made, mobile, wood-fired pizza oven trailer. We used to joke with Adam and his family that we were their best stalkers, following them from one location to the next at every opportunity.
We were absolutely delighted when they planted roots and opened a brick-and-mortar restaurant, only a 20-minute drive from home. In fact, Adam gave us a personal tour of the new, permanent location while remodeling was underway and they were still operating out of the trailer, in the parking lot outside.
Needless to say, we think they have the best-tasting pizza in the area, served by an amazing family. Their food is, consistently, top-notch and it is a pleasure to interact with the DiLauro family. Making a weekly visit has become something of a ritual, at this point.
These days, I'm disabled, so my wife usually picks up our order. On the rare occasions I'm in the car for the ride, Adam makes a special effort to take a minute to say a personal hello. When only my wife stops by, she always tells me that the family was asking about me.
Pizzeria DiLauro is a local treasure. It has been, and continues to be, a pleasure to get to know the family while enjoying some of the best food in the Greater Cleveland area.
If you decide to try it out for yourself, you won't be disappointed. Tell them John...
Read moreI could not recommend this place more! First of all, the pizza is delicious. If you really know your pizza, you can tell they put time into making the sauce. You can tell it's made with real tomatoes and not over processed or over cooked, true to the way Italian pizza should be! We love the combination of the traditional-tasting sauce with the super creative pizzas! The hot honey pepperoni is to die for. We ordered 2! Make sure to order more of that hot honey because the combination is unbelievable. The crust is crispy as advertised, and the signature pizza options they have are super fun and creative.
Even better than the pizza, though, is the customer service. They are all so kind and clearly love what they do. When I came in to pick up my order, the owner introduced me to his family who were all working behind the counter. They were incredibly nice and helpful and even gave us some fun ideas to use the hot honey for! (Honey-glazed salmon was my favorite idea, thanks!) As someone who lives right down the street, I can't tell you how amazing it is to have an authentic, family-owned business like that in the neighborhood. These are the kinds of places a community should prioritize and savior, so welcome to Bainbridge! We are so happy to have you and we will probably be back...
