San Marcos Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Bainbridge

First off let me say that my husband and I've tried all the Mexican restaurants in Bainbridge, GA, and Donalsonville, GA, and love Mexican cuisine.

We came here on a Monday evening, seemed like enough people that it looked promising, but that's far from what we got. The gentleman that sat us was very polite so it was a good first impression. We sat down, chips were over cooked so they had a burned taste to them, salsa was good at least. We ordered fajitas for two, steak and chicken. We do this at all Mexican restaurants to get a feel for their seasoning, taste, and sides. While waiting for our food I noticed their restaurant needed dusting, especially their fans, which are above tables. As someone who's worked in food and beverage for many years, it bothered me, and I know it doesn't bother everyone, but it says a lot about how clean they keep their restaurant. Then the food arrived, it was sizzling and I had hoped it tasted great, but I was very disappointed by how bland their food was. Either their seasoning is weak, or they use very little of any sort of seasoning, including salt. They also overloaded the fajitas with a filler: onions. A bunch of onions. I don't mind a bit extra, but to the ratio of peppers and meat, I was disappointed in this also. It was nearly 70% onions to everything else, it was excessive. Our waiter didn't really stick around long enough for us to ask anything from him, or get our ticket fixed (we were charged for a queso we never even ordered, nor received), we had to ask someone else to inform our waiter of this.

All in all, if service is bad, but food is good I'd return to a restaurant for a second try, but considering the cleanliness, the poor service, and the food being bland, I won't return. I much rather go to Rodeo in Donalsonville. Very...

Disappointing! We went because of the reviews stating the food was incredible. Umm not even a little bit. We wanted the 3 chicken enchilada dinner with flour tortillas the waiter said no substitution flour tortillas are much bigger. Every other Mexican restaurant we have been to subs the corn tortillas for flour ones. Assuming he isn’t understanding we ask again with flour tortillas he said no. I said can you go ask someone this doesn’t make sense. He leaves and we get another waiter passing by and ask him at first he says no then may be he understood and said yes of course no problem just tell your waiter. We said we tried he said no. He goes to tell the waiter. We get that sorted out and order 3 enchiladas with flour tortillas with a side of rice and beans. The food arrives and the tortillas were warm not hot (you know how at most Mexican restaurants they said hot plate.) We knew it wasn’t going to be hot because the waiter is carrying it with no hot pads. The enchiladas had hardly any sauce. My husband at to pour salsa on it. The beans were cold (not warm cold) the cheese on top wasn’t melted we sent them back. They came back when were were pretty much done. I took a bite and the beans were watery with zero flavor. You could hear the waitresses and servers in the back laughing and not paying attention.. But the worse of all the thing that sealed the deal was seeing OUR waitress with a to go box in her mouth, For someone my family thinks she didnt but she did.

I saw,Me and me only,I saw her taunt me knowingly that no one would beleive me..She knows what she did,she knows she had the plate in her mouth as she fixed her server belt on sunday june 16th 2024 around 7-9 pm i know she knew what she was doing as she walked past our table of 7.. I was with my 5 year old newphew,What if we asked for boxes,what if she put her nasty mouth and saliva all over our boxes. I dont know what she has i dont know if she has aids,cancer,Flu,Yellow fever i dont know and i honestly dont care, i just think this is HONESTLY DISGUSTING.
