Carl’s Jr. — Restaurant in Bakersfield

Walked in saw the cook not wearing gloves, than touching her hair. Asked the manager if cook was to be wearing gloves, manager responded by telling me that they were, when I can clearly see that cook was not. I told her I would probably not be ordering but that I would look at the menu, she turned around and asked cook to put gloves on at my request. At this time another manager came up, I asked if she was the manager she responded "yes"! It is at this time when the cook came back made a remark so I responded, manager got mad at me because I was "yelling at her cook" my response to the cook was that it wasn't about race, mind you I'm Hispanic and she is too, it was about being sanitary. Manager didn't seem to care, never apologized, and even giving me an attitude when I was calm through the whole thing. I didn't end up ordering anything and I suggest for anyone to do the same. Very poor customer service and lots of sanitary issues. Manager at drive thru not using scoop for ice just sticking cup in ice machine, her hair all over the place. I can only imagine the back cooking area 😝😷.An apology would of been sufficient, but obviously they don't care and I let the manager know that I appreciated her caring about the customer, great job manager...not! Never...

Absolute Fail. So Gross. We were told to park in front of the store, they would bring our order shortly. Almost 15 min. later, they finally give us our food. The fries were disgusting, with tiny pieces all over them like they hadn't changed the oil all day. the food was cold and the lettuce and tomatoes seemed old, and had a weird texture. I took 2 bites of my burger and threw it away, because it was literally disgusting. my gf however, ate her burger, actually hers was a breaded chicken sandwich. I'm not sure how it tasted but she had food poisoning the following 3 days. she was achy all over, fatigued, and sore, like she went to the gym and maxed out on every muscle group, for someone who doesn't work out. Employees were friendly and very helpful. Another plus is the coke machine which allows you to choose what seems like an endless amount of drink choices. The atmosphere has changed since the last time I visited and it looks a lot cleaner but the way its built and the seats they have at the tables are uncomfortable. They definitely chose these because they didn't want people to hang around. I ordered the teriyaki burger which had way too much sauce on it which almost made it inedible and it had the tiniest pineapple I had seen on it. My roommate ordered the grass fed burger and the meat itself had no flavor. Both of us were disappointed in our burgers but the fries were hot and properly salted.
