Dickey's Barbecue Pit — Restaurant in Bakersfield

Went in not many customers.. staff obviously low quality they must have their friends doing the other reviews. It was a to go order placed 30 minutes prior it wasnt ready when i got there so i had to wait for other customers and staff to finish visiting . When it was my turn the girl walked off went in the back room talking to whoever and getting a new apron. The other one was fine so i took it she was taking a break on my time. When i got the bag of food i was frustrated walked out. When i got home the food was cold like it had been sitting around for a few hours . The ribs were very small no meat all bone and the meat was dry as jerky amd burnt. She gave is no silver ware or bbq sauce . My first visit a couple months back made me want to come back the food was great very impressed. This time for $32 for two people we should have cooked our own and will from now on instead of dealing with the inept staff again . My wife said that the first time she bought our other meal the girl helping her was rude used her feet to close the oven . She was bery disappointed. We tried to call 3 times when we got home and it rang and rang first time i i hung up after 5 min second time they hung up on us the third they took it off the hook.. very rude wont go back and will tell our friends and family about our experience PS my wifes turkey resembled the same as you could buy at Albertsons in a deli pack. Not like the first experience with thicker slices and the flavor of having been on a bbq pit.sadly the qualitys going down hill with the current...

My review is based off going to eat there the other day... First this place is cafeteria type line which was horrible. 2nd when you order your meet your hoping to see them take a chunk of good meat and drop it down. NO they weigh the meet to control proportions which is just silly. Finally when we went we asked for 3 different types of meats and i was given the response sorry we are out of that sorry... We are stuck then with just pulled pork which was greasy and yucky and COLD sausage links and polish links (again they weigh the meat) Ok so 2nd chance we like there bake patato. Nope there out they state it will take a hour to make new. Why wernt they already baking. This place in general and horrible chain that does not need to be in bakersfield.

If you want good BBQ and locally owned i highly suggest ditching this place and going to Poor Boy bbq where they actually cook there meat in smokers and bbq and not boil bags and ooh yea THEY actually have meat in stock and not run out. Dickeys a meat restaurant they running out of there main product is horrible... SO save your money and go to Poor boys or anywhere but here..

Super dry food & incompetent staff. I haven't been here in 3+ months because my last experience was pretty bad. So I decided to give it a try again, since it's been a while. Well.... amazingly everything actually got WORSE!! I did an online pickup order. It was supposed to be ready at 1:45. It wasn't done until 2:05 & when I walked in, the whole place was deserted. I got my food and walked out. Then I noticed they didn't give me my pickels & onions. So I walked back in for them & gave them a piece of my mind. THEN, when I got home, first thing I notice is the takeout boxes are absolutely filthy on the outside. So I open the boxes & noticed that they sliced the meat wrong -instead of chopped, they sliced it. THEN, a take a bite & it's so ridiculously dry & flavorless, it's barely palatable -the brisket AND chicken, both. Talk about HORRIBLE all around!! I'll wait another year maybe before I try it...
