John's Burgers — Restaurant in Bakersfield

New in the area and I was out running errands. I was super hungry and decided on a burger I wanted from one of the national chain fast food places knows for char broiled burgers.

Driving down the street and saw this place so I turned in and went through the drive through. Wow, they have an extensive menu.

I decided on something simple and boring, a 1/4 pound burger. I was ready to be disappointed but I was so hungry I went with it. I thought about driving off though because I travel around a bit and so often I find joints like this are a disappointment. As my late wife said, national places are not always the best but they are consistent and decent. She prefered to have consistent and decent than to take a chance on an unknown place. I often take chances.

In this case, I am glad I did. The 1/4 burger was excellent from the toasted bun, to the things like lettus....

Ill start by saying I LOVE JOHNS BURGERS. Dont go to this one (f st.) Go to the one on River blvd.

I used to go to this location because it's closer to home. However recently they have changed all their prices and covered them up on the wall. Okay, whatever. The foods good and the portions are fair. NOPE. I ordered a grilled cheese meal and got the smallest half empty skimped bag of fries that you could f---- imagine. I counted 14 fries. Thanks for lunch.

Second. I went back, got a milkshake. A regular. Which took the girl forever to make with an empty restaurant.

My milkshake cost $5.03. The waitress put whip cream on top with no domelid. The size of the milk shake was pathetic and definitely not worth the cost.

Do yourself a favor and avoid...

The lady working the drive-through has so much attitude it’s ugly. From the moment you order to the moment you get to the window she is just plain rude. I usually won’t comment on appearances, but she is usually very unkept, un brushed hair. doesn’t bother to smile. When handling food it’s important to have your hair back and be properly groomed. She’s usually always rude. Which led to the review, I have been coming to this location for years and often go out of my way to go the the other location specifically since the customer service is so bad at this one.
