We have always loved Zingo's. Who Zingo is I have no idea, but I do know the first owner passed and the place was bought and remolded. It is not a fancy remodel and we would not want that. It is just super friendly and welcoming. Parking is super easy in their lot. The place is spotless as are the bathrooms. There is a bar in the back through another door which has all manner of old time fun. Country music, Karaoke nights and just a great time. Zingo's always has a few special events now and again like classic cars that are amazing to look at and the owners are there having a meal with everyone else. This place is just so down to earth, not a mean person in site. The customers are mostly local, some are long haul truck drivers and then there are the people who know you have to eat at Zingo's or you have not really been to Bakersfield. Each table is so cool, it has adverts made right into the table for all sorts of local places. It is super fun to read. They have a large menu and everything is really good, be it breakfast or dinner. The service is great. They are fast and friendly and if you need any information about Bakersfield these are the women to ask. They know the menu well and will tell you what is great. We had burgers, just so tasty and cooked perfectly, salad with a wonderful dressing and coffee that never ends. We also ordered a super tasty lemonade. We had biscuits and gravy and the county sausage gravy was some of the best I have ever had. The biscuits are made there and so fluffy. We also ordered eggs and pancakes. The eggs were large and wonderful. The pancakes were cooked on too hot a grill and made them a tad tough, so turn your grill down, but they were still good. There is not one thing we don't love about this place. They are kid and tourist friendly and you will never be rushed and you will be made to feel at home. I doubt they take reservations. I have never seen a huge line. Have the best time.

I needed to add that Zingo’s now Honors Veterans, retired or active duty, all branches, every Wednesday morning from 0800 till around 1000. Bring a picture of the service member to add to their forever growing Wall of Honor! This restaurant has recently been purchased by the new owners who have done a magnificent job in remodeling yet keeping some of this history everyone knows and loves. I had the Ortega Burger with Onion Rings and hubby had the Chicken Fried Steak Sandwich with French Fries and a salad. Everything was superbly prepared and most delicious. He then had the Peach Dump Cake which was heavenly. The inside is beautiful and the young helpers were darling yet professional. I highly recommend everyone stopping by to get an amazing meal with such hospitality. Enjoy!

I haven't been here for years maybe even a decade. Today I tried their Chicken Thai noodle Salad I think it was called with peanuts & it came with it's own peanut sauce. It was nice. I hadn't had anything like that before. I did combine the peanut sauce with ranch & it was perfect! I didn't like noodles in the salad. I think I would order without the noodles next time. Our waiter was sweet as pie. It was surprisingly loud for a smaller space. You should know you need to yell to be heard/talk if you want to eat here (hence 4 stars for atmosphere). I wonder if it's always this way or only Weekends because of the extra busyness? I'd like to try their Breakfast items next.

Nice, clean look. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We've been several times now since the new owners bought the place and the food has been cooked perfectly every time, no matter what we ordered. Today, we got the lunch specials. The French dip was stacked with fresh beef on a perfect roll and a flavorful au jus. The fish and chips were perfectly crisp, flaky, and tender. We've also had breakfast before. The meats were fresh and not dry like so many places, the eggs were fluffy. The French toast great and the biscuits with chocolate gravy were awesome (but more like a dessert). We are definitely going back more often.

I really enjoyed breakfast at the newly remodeled and reopened Zingos! This was on the 4th day of reopening. I gave them a 4 only because they are new and still refining their reopening. The Chicken Fried Steak is a good standard to gauge Breakfast and it was delicious! Tender, golden fried and very tasty! I thought the custom labeled salt and pepper grinders were a nice touch. They removed the center booths and put tables instead, which makes the dining room look larger and more open. The place was bright and clean but still kept some of the restaurants history in place.
