Finally!, I got around in leaving this review as promised to a well deserved black owned business. I was able to successfully close out my Thanksgiving of 2020 on the highest note thanks 🙏🏼 to Codetta Bake Shop. I brought home 3 of her Thanksgiving themed cheesecakes (the carrot cake cheesecake and 2 of the sweet potato pie cheesecake). I will begin by saying that I was left fruitless for words as I absolutely knew, just knew that the sweet potato pie cheesecake would be and or was EVERYTHING my taste buds were graced with. The carrot cake cheesecake!, yup...as advertised it also hit the mark of being a success. I can continue to rant and rave but I short!, go to her website, order your cheesecake/s, get down to her brick and mortar in bmore, make sure to have some plastic utensils🍴tucked in the glove compartment or stop by your local fast food spot to pick some up, find a good location to park with some scenery, slowly open that lid, post the craft within her work, and lastly go to town! I cannot urge the masses enough about supporting and or trying her desserts/cheesecakes so just do yourself a favor, read the review and go! Working with Sumayyah and Codetta Bake Shop was phenomenal!!! I was determined to find a Black bakery for my wedding cake in the Baltimore area. We were able to do a tasting, where we tried several flavors of cupcakes and tasted carrot cake. It was an absolute success! Let’s just say by the time I got over to the dessert table, there was not a cupcake left I. sight. Guests are still telling me about how delicious the cupcakes were; one guest said they had four! Now for the cake… WE WERE SPEECHLESS!!! No notes!!!!! It was perfection. I’ll drop a picture here when we get them. It was stunningly beautiful, but even more it was so perfectly delicious!! I just wanted to keep eating it and have a moment with my new husband and that cake. We packed it up and carried it around throughout the first half of our honeymoon abroad, eating and savoring it over several days!! We can’t wait to eat some on our first anniversary. Sumayyah really made our dreams...

Codetta is located in an old church right on light street, close to the inner harbor. Parking is sometimes scarce in this area, particularly on weekends and in the spring and summer, but if you can't find street parking on light street, there are options within fair walking distance.

They seem to have a menu that alternates daily. When I visited, there were plenty of delicious sounding ice cream, cake, cheesecake and cupcake options to choose from. The ice cream came in two sizes (6oz and 10oz), and was pre packaged. The gentleman working was very nice, and quick to serve. I was told the ice cream and cupcakes are made onsite.

I purchased the banana pudding ice cream, along with a triple chocolate cupcake. Both were very delicious. The banana pudding came with a cookie inside. The cupcake was perfectly soft with a good bit of chocolate icing. Definitely worth stopping by when you're in the area. I'll...
