Shocked at the experience. After hearing mostly positive things we were excited to visit.

Service was fine once we got seated, the older hostess seems to really dislike people and doesn't feel embarrassed to act as such.

Our server was delightful, and took very good care of us, they were were the only part of the night that was decent.

Raw oysters took very long to arrive, apparently that's the norm at this location, a little odd, but sure.

The drinks came out quickly, nothing remarkable, higher price for medium quality and shorter pours.

They offer non-alcoholic drinks that are interesting, but they are priced very high, especially considering this is a "casual" location.

The atmosphere was confusing, we felt very over dressed and the general vibe was loud and over packed and felt like a tin of sardines.

Almost no space between tables and felt very chaotic.

Waiting so long for oysters our server got our order together efficiently, and we were excited! Then we were surprisingly underwhelmed by the food. Over cooked fish, with a burnt flavour, the burger had black grease on the bun & was over done and salty, the fries were salty and mostly the broken pieces.

Our sever offered apologies and tried to remedy the situation. But, after waiting for long for raw oysters, and receiving such low quality food, we felt we had better settle up.

Not the experience we hoped for, maybe it was just a bad night?

Some attention to details would greatly improve any issues we had, especially speed and quality control. Also, finding hosting staff that is not rude and standoffish. The servers were wonderful, so we know they can hire good people.

We will give visit a different time. Hopefully this...

This had been at the top of my list of restaurants to try and, honestly, it was a bit of a disappointment for me food-wise. The ambiance and service are wonderful, 5 stars; however, the food was overall unimpressive. The oysters were good, though none of the four varieties that I tried stood out as being exceptional and I thought that the vinegar for the mignonette lacked subtly and overpowered, rather than complimented, the oysters. The whole belly clams were almost ruined by a batter that was heavy, dense, and had a bitter, fryer-oil-needs-changing, aftertaste (though the flavor and quality of the clams themselves was excellent)--I'm a lover of fried things and I didn't eat the onion rings the came with the clams because I found the breading so distasteful. Anchovy was good. However, the tartare/crudo thing (forgetting the type of fish & specific name of the dish), while also good, suffered from having an oil drizzled over it, which detracted from the flavor of the fish. Given the lovely ambiance and excellent service, I would try it again, but on my first visit, the food did not live up...

Came in with high expectations given the many positive reviews but after dining here I wish I had read them more closely.

Like other reviewers, my husband and I were shocked to see our fried oyster sandwiches delivered on small pieces of Texas toast next to a giant bag of chips. While delicious, the dish certainly wasn’t worth $18. The raw oysters were exceptional but on the pricier end of the spectrum for Baltimore restaurants. I also found it odd that they’re only sold by the half dozen.

Service went from slow to inattentive which was funny to us as the restaurant cleared out as we were eating. We had both finished our drinks halfway through eating our meals and would have loved another round but our server didn’t reappear until we had finished.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice however, it’s very loud when full. Overall my husband and I agreed that the meal was good but this is not a place we’d come back to. For two small sandwiches with chips, a dozen oysters, and two beers we payed $82… it’s hard to justify spending this much on a small meal when service...

Located in the trendy Hamden neighborhood surrounded by converted row houses now turned into small shop, boutiques, and restaurants. Walked in on a Thursday evening and the small place was bustling. There are tables, counter top seating, and also booths. We we're fortunate to snag a booth for a bit more privacy. Service was great, our server was very knowledgeable about the oysters, as well as the wine list, and the evenings specials. The menu is not huge so everything is done well! I'm not a huge oyster lover but our party opted for a flight of assorted oysters. They were gone in a matter of minutes! Our party had the fresh whole bronzini which was a special, butterflied rainbow trout in butter, fried oyster sandwich, and the green Chile cheeseburger. All plates are ala carte so we ordered potatoes skins which were great and the beets. Sides are large enough as share ables for 4 people. Opens at 5 pm. No lunch.

My absolute favorite restaurant in Baltimore! Despite growing up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland eating Chesapeake Bay oysters out of the half shell since I was 3, I didn’t really know oysters until I went here. This was the place that made me realize oysters can vary greatly in flavor. Depending on the day, you can choose from oysters from Maine, New Brunswick, Washington state, Prince Edward Island, and, of course, Maryland and Virginia. Everything on the menu is to die for, and the atmosphere is chill, cozy, and welcoming. No pretentiousness accompanying the high-quality food. Don’t eat seafood? No problem! The burger is the best burger in Baltimore — a mouthwatering smash burger that’s always on the menu. The coddie, a Baltimore tradition, is a must-try. Get the Stern Fern for a cocktail. All the fish are delicious too. I prefer to get there when they open at 5 and snag a seat at the bar.

I absolutely love Dylan’s. it’s small and personable. The bartenders, the waitresses, the waiters, the owner and overall staff are just great. The food is always always good even if it’s something totally different that I would never tried before. Everything is so fresh. I got cream of mushroom soup. Oh my God amazing. However, the menu changes often. The main dishes are usually the butter rainbow trout fish, the burger, collard greens, and a few other items but they will put new items on the menu often The desserts are made by my girl that shucks the oysters and they are delicious 🤤. I mean have you ever heard of that. So awesome Lol!! Just go!!!!! oh and be sure to get a cocktail…. DELICIOUS!!!!!! 😋
