Long story: I recently had 5 old ear piercings re-tapered with new jewelry at another studio. I was having some issues with them and was interested in having them checked out and swapping out the jewelry with a higher quality metal like titanium. The studio that re-tapered them did not have titanium jewelry available, so I researched shops in the area that did and came across Timeless. Their reviews were impeccable and their website was well organized, informational, and offered online booking. I made an appointment with Matt. I got a confirmation email and text, which I thought was not only helpful but professional.

Matt immediately greeted me upon arrival and took the time to understand my concerns and future goals for my piercings. Matt took a look at my piercings, cleaned them, and helped me curate a look that I loved with titanium jewelry that was within my budget. My ears were red, swollen, and screaming for mercy before I came into the shop. Matt was so, so gentle and talked me though everything.

My industrial was giving me the most trouble in terms of pain and swelling. Matt informed me that the bar I was currently wearing was not appropriate for my anatomy and was actually pressed up against the curve of my ear, so we opted for two separate barbells instead of the typical long bar. It also appeared that one of the industrial piercings was re-pierced with an insertion taper, which explained why it was so painful and angry.

Matt took the time to educate me on threading types, metal types, which metals are MRI safe, the process of anodizing titanium, and jewelry in general. The jewelry was sterilized in their autoclave right in front of me. Matt even showed me the indicator color change to prove that the sterilization had been successful. Matt also taught me how to tell whether or not a packaged piece of jewelry has been sterilized successfully. They perform spore testing biweekly on their autoclave, have a biohazard waste disposal system in place and mounted on the wall, have a sink for hygiene right in the piercing room, etc. Never in my life have I had an experience like this before. All of my previous piercing experiences may as well have taken place in an alley behind Applebee’s.

I absolutely attended Matt University today and was so appreciative of his expertise and knowledge. Matt additionally checked the viability of ten other ear piercings that I plan to add new jewelry to and priced out the cost for me, so that I could budget for it. Matt went over after care instructions, showed me jewelry options for the future, and gave me an informational pamphlet. Matt offered his guidance if I had any questions or issues with anything.

I have been getting piercings for over ten years and have never once had an experience as impressive as the one I had with Timeless today. Matt was kind, gentle, professional, and clearly an expert in his field. He immediately put me at ease and educated me in a way that empowered me to advocate for my own safety. Matt went above and beyond! He was very clean, professional, thorough, detailed, and communicative. He was patient with allowing me to inspect and approve his placement for my 4th lobe/cartilage piercings. I'm usually indecisive about placement, but his was perfect, so I didn't need to have them be re-adjusted. He also was helpful in pricing out each jewelry piece upfront when we inquired, so we had an idea of what we would be paying before consenting. The entire process was calm, and the actual piercing part was done within 3-4 minutes (I got one on each side). I really appreciated his chillness and the cold saline compress he put on after piercing me - I am convinced the immediate cold compress decreased a lot of the initial inflammation and irritation normally associated with piercings. I had minimal pain afterwards and actually forgot I got pierced within hours. Although it was a bit more costly than other tattoo places I've visited, it was by far the most professional, painless, and thoughtful place I have been to. Matt is the BEST!!! I came in to look at jewelry, trying to find something to wear in my septum for my upcoming wedding in the spring. He was so sweet, kind, and attentive. Asked lots of questions about what I was looking for, gave me lots of suggestions to consider that he could order if I chose them-- my budget was a bit of a constraint since I couldn't afford a lot of the more opulent-looking pieces. As it turns out, the owner of Timeless makes niobium jewelry and a few days later, Matt sent me a picture of something they just recently made. It was exactly what I was looking for! I made an appointment for later that day where Matt showed me how to change the jewelry (it was a seam ring which I had never used before), and put it in for me.
