Order placed via the app. After finishing at the speaker and only when we got to the window were we told they had no Cajon rice, they no longer carry green beans or onion rings (both of which were still on the drive through menu), and they were out of Dr. Pepper. All of these items were available on the app except onion rings. Further, they had no artificial sweetener for the unsweet iced tea. We got our food and pulled away. It was then that we saw we did not get the beignets we ordered nor any napkins or utensils. We pulled back through the drive-thru and told them about the problems. The man replied, "We don't have beignets. That's why I gave you the apple pies! You can pull around for the utensils" No one bothered to tell us they were out of beignets. No one give us the option of our choice of different dessert or a refund. They just chose to swap the item we wanted with an item we DID NOT WANT and say nothing about it. Despite the complaint and saying we should have been told, there was no offer to fix the problem. No apology.
We pulled over to eat our lunch. A lunch we did not want or ordered. Had we known they would not have most of what we ordered, we would have gone to a different Popeye's. We were only a few minutes from 4 different locations when we ordered via the app. If the app had accurately shown the availability of food, we would never have gone there! As for the food itself:
The mac & cheese (a substituted item) was tepid, at best and was awful. Noodles overcooked to mushy and poor quality canned cheese sauce.
Red beans and rice (a substituted item) was also tepid and awful. The rice was flavorless and the beans were so runny that they could only be eaten with rice mixed in. If you tried to eat the beans alone, they ran off the fork. One of us could not eat the beans at all due to the smell. We tried to feed them to the dog when we got home and she refused.
I had to drink my tea without any sweetener. Not pleasant.
The coleslaw was not cold. It wasn't as warm as tepid but it was not kept as cold as it should have been. And, the taste was "off." It was not pleasant to eat. It just did not taste good. Normally, I would eat a large size myself alone but my companion and I, together, didn't eat as much as a single serving.
Lastly, the chicken sandwiches, which is the reason we went to Popeye's in the first place weren't good. They, too were tepid. And, sadly, the taste was sub-par. Usually, they taste really good, rivaling Chick-fil-A, but these were lacking in flavor. I even took off the bread and tried the chicken alone. It was as if there was no seasoning on it.
We wished we had gone ANYWHERE else to eat. It was a waste of calories from beginning to end and terrible...
Read moreI've never had such a terrible experience in a restaurant that I asked for my money back and went elsewhere, but that's what happened here. We started in the drive thru. My bf and I got our order ready at the window and then proceeded to say "hello" into the speaker 3xs w no response. Cars were building up behind us, so I decided to pull around and see if they were even open. Once around the building I saw very clearly there was a worker standing in the drive thru window. Confused, and assuming maybe the speaker was broke, we went inside. I was initially greeted by the same young man I saw in the drive thru window. I asked what specials were available for buckets of chicken. He stated he had to ask and walked off. He never came back, nor did I see him ask. Instead, he went back to the drive thru window. Another worker came over. Older woman. We put our order in and move to the side so the couple behind us can do the same. While waiting for my food I observe 4/5 workers are walking around w headsets on but none of them are addressing the drive through?? Then out of nowhere the woman who took our order claims they are out of original recipe and all we can have is spicy. This was never stated during our order and there was a ton of chicken on the rack behind her in front of us. Confused, frustrated, and just all together over it. I asked for a refund. Several more minutes went by. Another worker at the cash register and now this person is asking if I want "thighs" I promptly asked again for my money back and went to KFC WTF...
Read moreMe and a coworker went here around 1 pm on my lunchbreak. We stood waiting patiently for our order which we placed at least minutes of arriving in the store however the cashier did not know what she was doing. She had to keep asking one of her coworkers whom I assume was a manager or whatever to take something off or add something on so it had taken at least 5-10 minutes for her just to get my order right. Next my coworker placed her order which didn't take as long as my order. We stood waiting and waiting when another customer came in placed her order and received her food before me, my coworker and about 3 other people that was waiting. Atp I got annoyed and had to ask for my food which the second girl that helped the cashier at the beginning asked me what # did I have but for what because she didn't even start to fix mine she started making someone else's. It goes on but I'll end it in a few. We waited 40 minutes and get back to our office for the food to be tasteless and nasty plus my frozen strawberry lemonade was super sweet trust and believe I will NEVER EVER eat or go to this Popeyes not even if the...
