Taqueria Los Perez offers absolutely delicious authentic Mexican cuisine and provides a great value. I tried the Quesabirria tacos today and really enjoyed them. Birria, which I'm not super familiar with, is a traditional Mexican dish originally from Jalisco, Mexico, however has been making waves in the U.S. more recently.
The meat is juicy and savory like a good beef pot roast, and is adorned with cilantro and onion with a lime garnish. It also includes a generous amount of cheese if you request the queso version. One the side is the trademark sophisticated salty jus/broth topped with cilantro for dipping, or possibly for slurping down when no one is looking ;). Also two salsa packets, red and verde, are included as well to add some mild/medium spice, and there are a variety of hot sauce bottles on the table as well for those of us that like it a bit more caliente.
Birria is typically pricey as it requires more preparation than other offerings, however the three taco Birria is a mere $12.99 currently at this location. I also saw there was a generously sized Birria pizza for $26.99. Also if you wallet is a little light, drop by for their Taco Tuesday discounts.
The menu has quite a few choices with Mexican specialties like sopas, flautas, and chilaquiles, as well as more common fare like burritos, tacos, nachos, and enchiladas. In addition there are some frozen treats, what appeared to be smoothies, a wide variety of bottled beverages like Jarritos and Mexican coke, or just bottled water if you are strategically saving your calorie intake for more delicious food.
There is plenty of room for seating so I don't see there being an issue finding a space even during busier times. Service was excellent and the staff was very personable.
I will certainly be back and hope to try many more items on the menu. Given the quality of the food and staff I'm sure Taqueria Los Perez will continue to be...
Read moreThis place has potential but the price are a bit high for qty. Its interior is like eating in a school cafeteria but blasting Karachi music. The ambiance is lacking if the change the lumens from 8000 calvin to 3500 that would be a good start and add some plants maybe some somberos over the table would defiently change the vibe. The burrito was tasty, but honestly, it was pretty small for $15. It didn't fill me up. The nachos looked great on top, but there was nothing underneath. You have to mix it all yourself, and there wasn't much cheese not worth $16. The portion sizes and...
Read moreI was very disappointed with what I ordered, which was the four birria tacos and a side of guacamole. Look at my photos for what I received. For $4 I’m thinking I was going to get some fresh made guacamole. Instead it was slice avacados…booo! The tacos were made like how they are usually made and pictured on the front of their menu…with no cheese…booo! I had ended up taking the sliced avacado and making my own guacamole and had to add my own cheese to the tacos. Smh…shame on you Taqueria Los Perez 2. Never again will I go here. I will be doing a more detailed review on my...
