They understood the assignment!
Let me go ahead and put y’all on!! My brother invited me for breakfast and made the reservation. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for an experience, not just a meal. The energy was immaculate. The vibes was giving grown, classy, and wrapped in Black excellence! IFKYK 👌🏾
My man Myles with a Y 😁 was my server and he was top-tier. He was very attentive without being overbearing, super sweet and genuine without trying too hard, and he moved like he actually enjoyed being there. You ever have a server that makes you feel like the most important table in the room? That was Myles! Protect him at all costs, given you don't always get great servers who actually like their job. He was everything!!
And then Shareef, the owner. Yes... the one who owns the actual Shareef's that has the rotisserie chicken to die for!!?...He owns this one too! So u know the food is gonna touch your soul!
That man has charisma, class, and the kind of interpersonal skills that make you wanna invest in whatever he’s doing! Genuinely such a great and uplifting business man! We chopped it up for a bit and let me tell you, it’s clear he and his wife takes pride in this place. It shows with how he speaks, how he tended to our table, how he ensured we were taken care of during the entire visit and dropped gems to help me with a business question I had. I even had the pleasure of speaking with his wife via FaceTime while I was there, and she was just as lovely and ridiculously beautiful. You could feel the love in the way they move. That’s Black love and Black business done right. #Goals
The restaurant itself gives high-end decor, more like this is luxury, stay a while. The bathrooms were clean and stocked. Y’all know that matters and can truly ruin an experience when everything else is going great.
Now let’s get to the food, because chileeeeee, my belly is still poking after my meal! I ordered the steak, eggs & potatoes (because why not be a little bougie on a Sunday? Lol), I threw in a side of grits and turkey sausage. Everything was cooked to perfection! His Chef deserves a kiss on the forehead for this one! The steak was seasoned like somebody knew what they were doing in that kitchen. Juicy, tender, and paired perfectly with those creamy grits and turkey sausage. My potatoes hit!!! Idk what seasoning they put on it, but they had my taste buds dancing. I was full yet sat there for a while trying to plan my next visit 😅. Big back behavior!
My brother ordered the banana crème brûlée French toast with yams and listen, there wasn’t a crumb left on that plate! He didn't need syrup at all which tells you everything you need to know. He devoured it like it owed him money. 🤣
The hibiscus tea was a staple for me. I’m talking rich, refreshing, slightly floral and delicious. I’m already craving it again!
The Madison 801 is going on my list of fav places! Side note, I absolutely love the name. It just flows and sounds upscale! I’ll absolutely be back and next time, I’m bringing a cute lil crew because some things are just too good not to share!
Thank you for making my 1st experience here one to remember....
Read moreWe recently visited a newly opened restaurant with a fairly large group and had a reservation in place. While the staff was partially prepared for our party, they had to add an extra table after we were already seated. Initially, they offered four bar stools to accommodate the overflow, but since a nearby table was available, the bar seating wasn’t necessary.
The food was, for the most part, delicious. Two dishes missed the mark, but to their credit, the staff promptly offered a substitute and prepared another steak after the first was overcooked (medium rare was requested, but it came out well done). The crab-stuffed lamb chops, while flavorful, were disappointing in that the crab filling was barely noticeable—especially at $48, it left us expecting more.
The restaurant itself was impressively clean, including the restrooms, which is always a good sign.
Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. The server was very particular about the order in which she took orders but didn’t seem to know who had ordered what when the food arrived. The beverage selection was limited, so most of us ended up with either regular or watermelon lemonade. However, even these took quite a while to arrive, and the response was consistently, “I’m working on it.” Water refills were never offered, and we had to suggest clearing dirty plates ourselves just to make room for incoming food.
Overall, while the food and cleanliness were strong points, the service needs improvement—especially for larger groups. With some refinements, this place could definitely become...
Read moreI placed an order that was over $120+ with the resteraunt on Door Dash and an hour later my order was canceled. Then the resteraunt closed themselves on the app. I called the resteraunt to ask why my order was canceled and the first time I was left on hold for over 15 minutes. The second time the employee picked up the phone and stated they canceled my order because they were busy. I was heated, because first of all I was starving by then. Secondly, for such a large order why not call the customer and let them know why their order is being cancelled. Especially, after an hour!! Lastly, at this point the resteraunt should be aware of their busier days an times and should not have made themselves available on the app in the first place if they struggle keeping up with orders. My order should have been made and customers who got there after I placed my order should have been made to wait. You don't keep taking new orders without fullfilling the ones you have. That is providing good customer service. I am extremely disappointed and will not support this business...
