Northeast Market — Local services in Baltimore

My review is for Heavenly Hotdog in NE Market: The Heavenly Hotdog at The North East Market is a deliberately bright and shining diamond in the rough. I tried the 1/4 chicken, ribs and greens. The meat was smoked to perfection! The southern style BBQ sauce was so delicious, they could bottle the recipe. The flavor conjured memories of my uncle's infamous sauce. It tasted like home. The lean baby back ribs were heavy and tender - meat in every bite. I believe it comes in racks & 1/2 racks. The chicken was a dream. My apologies. It smelled so good, I jumped right in before I took my picture and once that sauce hit my mouth, cradled by the smokey flavor, I couldn't stop. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this heavenly stop.

I look forward to returning and trying other menu items. If you enter the building via the parking lot, go to the center isle and make a right and let your nose lead you to the scrumptious scent of hickory and BBQ at the end of the center isle. The Heavenly Hotdog is...

I've only ever gone to this market M-F while I was at work. The best places to eat are Jawa Market, Michael's Pizza & Subs, there is a deli, and a chicken box/all-day breakfast place. The chicken box/all-day breakfast place is located next to the East Monumemt street entrance on the East side of the building. They have a display of the fried chicken and the grill for breakfast is right down the isle. The remainder of the food places are in the isle on the West side of the building. Jaws market has good panini's and salad. Don't be afraid to try their homemade juices they are always good and they'll be happy to give you a sample. At Michael's try everything on the menu. I've been working my way around and have yet to be disappointed. The fries are the best in the market, I don't buy fries from anywhere else. This is one of the traditional East Coast indoor food markets with various sitting areas inside. I find this to be good and average -- nothing particularly good nor bad about it. As usual, it is much easier to find less healthy options (Asian takeout, fried fish sandwiches).

One problem that I have with this place is that sometimes the intersection of Hopkins Medicine affiliates and the local community is sometimes negative here. I was entering the building behind an Afr. Am. teenager and he purposefully closed the doors behind him and in front of my face in an unwelcoming and obviously rude way.
