Our party of four was satisfied with every dish. Pro tip—BYOB, as no alcohol is served on premises. The bread was a take on garlic knots. Very addictive. I didn’t want more than one, yet kept on eating. Fried calamari appetizer was pleasing. Breading was light, airy, not greasy and remained crispy until the last bite. The marinara was fresh and tasty. The stuffed mushrooms weren’t really stuffed, but awesome and the sauce was really good. We kept both sauces around to dip the bread in. Both appetizers and salads came out shockingly fast. Minutes later, our entrees were brought out by a delightful elderly man who was probably the cook, as well. My cheese ravioli did not disappoint. My friend said she really liked the eggplant Parmesan. The guys both had shrimp—one with veal and Marsala sauce. The other shrimp dish had salmon, capers, penne and the sauce was butter and white wine—was the winner. Our foodie in the group said the sauces were next level—all bright. Now, the strawberry cheesecake, I enjoyed, but everyone else said it was Sara Lee.

I was the first in at 11 am , got seated right away in the ambiance of piano music just relaxing my soul. I got a custom Cesar salad add charred gyro ( which was beyond words ) . The house made Cesar dressing was real , not over powering anchovies or any other ingredient. They came together like a symphony to orchestrate the perfect salad. I do believe this was the best Cesar salad I've had in my 36 years !!!! Then I got the sampler with meat sauce , and upon that tantilizing first bite I immediately felt like family with a sauce that had to have been slow simmered for hours to get that authentic zesty taste that only family could make 🤌🤌🤌🤌. No lie , I was full but the food was so heart warming full of flavor , that I had to get the Baklava , which had those true flaky layers . This place was my ratatouille the magic was in every bite !!!! When you need to feel like family and pamper your self , come to Pap's !!!! Just for the charred gyro alone il be back !!!!

Best Italian restaurant in Bandera! We came in on a Thursday night for pizza and pasta and were very happy with the whole experience. There was no wait, plenty of seating, so we picked our table out and were quickly greeted by a friendly and quite funny server (I think his name was Beckham). After some banter, we ordered our food and opened the bottle of wine we brought (it's BYOB here as they do not have alcohol, but they will bring wine glasses and a bottle opener, no corkage fee). Our food arrived and the portions were gigantic! My companion got a heaping plate of spaghetti and meat sauce, while I got a 12" pizza (build your own.) It was all delicious and well more than we could finish in one sitting. There are plenty of other items on the menu including a lot of options for kids. Best of all, the prices are quite reasonable. We'll definitely be back! Olympic Otter

the review no longer applies since my last visit there. I had ordered the Linguini with clam sauce which they did either alfredo or red sauce. I only know what to be served with garlic and oil but got canned clams with a funky sauce over pasta. I found a bug in my food. It happens I know that. What had me most upset was that when asked if I wanted another or something else I had stated that it kind of ruined my appetite and I was done. I overheard the waitress telling the cook in the kitchen that I did not want another one. The cook is also the owner. He decided, even though he knew I didn't want another one, to serve me another entree of the same. I told him I was not interested in eating it when he brought it out and he offered to box it up for me to go. I was not looking for a free meal but I certainly wasn't looking for anybody to push a dinner on me that I specifically said I did not want. Most establishments would comp you the meal especially since you didn't eat any of it. This place is money hungry and greedy. I did not appreciate the customer service and even though there are items on the menu I will never go back there again due to the rude owner and how we handle situations. representation of basic Italian entrees and appetizers that I have had since I lived on the East Coast. Reminds me of a place around the corner from where I lived. The service is excellent the owner is really nice. Even the bread they serve before dinner is wonderful. You can't go wrong if you're looking for a good red tomato gravy. We give it 5 Stars just for being around locally and being as...

The good... the stuffed mushrooms were excellent!! As this was the opener for our meal, we held high hopes for what was to come...

The meh... my chicken parmesan was mediocre.. while the chicken was super juicy and tender, the sauce was nothing to write home about. My husband had the fish and shrimp in pasta and I've never seen him so bored with a dish. Neither of us finished any of it.

The ugly... the staff did not pay attention to my order. I request chicken parm with a side of fettucine alfredo at nearly every Italian restaurant we visit. This is the first time I've ever had waitstaff not understand my request. She told the kitchen a side if alfredo sauce to start. When I corrected and explained what I wanted again, she charged us for a kid's portion of pasta. When I removed the side of spaghetti on my plate (very bland marinara by the way) and replaced it with the fettucine, she finally figured out what I intended. She apologized for the misunderstanding but still charged me for the kid's portion.

And to end it all, it was all mostly flavorless. Unfortunately this was our anniversary dinner during travel and we were immensely disappointed given other's reviews.

Luckily, I had good company in my husband and we'll go back to Don Chepe next time we want to...

Went here last year and loved the food and how lively the server was when he took my order. I enjoyed the authentic Italian food and how the staff was joking around. I felt very comfortable. However, my experience today was very different. For starters, the place was dirty and unclean. The waitress tried her best ,but honestly I missed my walter from my last visit. Therefore, in general, the servers that were there today were not friendly and I received a glare from another waitress when I asked for more coffee. On another note,my salad had old anitokes (some of them had black spots) they obviously from a can and my pasta was drenched in more water than sauce. In short, the food was no longer fresh like my previous visit from a year ago..my parents commented that cheese was old and that there chicken parm tasted frozen. I realize since the economy is now struggling, it is hard to own a business and make a profit. I can't imagine what hardship the family is going through and I wish them success...BUT simple things like cleaning, better service and more passion in the food would help them bring more customers. I was really looking forward to eating here and drove a hour and a half ,but unfortunately I was met with...
