Real "Mexican" food can be hard to come by, if you don't like Taco Bell. (But who doesn't like Taco Bell? (Besides my wife?)) Well, anyway, Chipotle (pronounced cheh-pō-tôl, chîp-oh-tā, chî-pōh-tā, chēp?-ōkā or thãt-mêks-ē-cãn-plās, but never chêh-pōt-lāy) was once described to me as a healthy alternative to Taco Bell. I thought, "Well, that sounds good. I should try it some time." Of course, I just kept getting Taco Bell, cuz it's yummers. (I still eat Taco Bell. Same reason.) But one day, I said to myself, "Self, you should eat healthier. You're getting old and fat and Taco Bell isn't helping. Remember that place? What was it? Something like cheh-pō-tôl, chîp-oh-tā, chü-kêl, thãt-mêks-ē-cãn-plās. Well, maybe we should try it. Worst case is what... getting our runs at a different border, but maybe not having another heart attack as soon?" And my self said," You know, you're right! I bet cheh-pō-tôl, chîp-oh-tā, `chë-äl-shā or thãt-mêks-ē-cãn-plās, is pretty good. I heard you pick all the stuff you want put on your stuff. That sounds healthy!" So away I went. (This was a few months back. Chipotle has been around here for years. I'm a bit slow to try something new. Sue me.) So, Door Dash, GrubHub (one of those places) brought me my first experience with the "new" "Mexican" food. It was... cold. So was the next order. And the one after that. And the one after that. I figured it had to be the time between the making of and delivery of the food that was responsible. So, I decided to pick it up. Now, they were a bit busy, so I had to wait a while (we'd ordered online, and I was early, too, so not their fault). So, I'm just kinda standing there, next to the soda machine, minding my own business, when this dude starts mumbling at me. (Not mumbling, really, talking in a normal conversational voice. I just couldn't hear him because the music was so loud I could barely hear my own thoughts. But for once, I finally could hear the ringing from my Tinnitus, so there's that.) Anyway, turns out this guy is a driver for one of those places that always made my food be cold. Only, he's waiting for his order, too. Says it happens all the time (not just Chipotle, everywhere). So, ok, no worries. Maybe it's just because there's the time between making and eating. Reheating isn't a big deal. What's 30 seconds in the microwave? Now, like I said, I was early and they were busy, so I was waiting. And getting tired of the chit-chat with Mr. Delivery Guy. It isn't that I don't like people. I just don't like most people. Unfortunately, he was one of them. Now, yeah, I'd only talked with him for about 2 minutes, but I could tell I didn't like him because he was talking to me. And I didn't know him. Who does that? So I started messing with my phone hoping he wouldn't talk to me anymore, even though I wasn't really doing anything, just not wanting to talk to him anymore. It worked. So now I liked him. He could take a hint without being a baby. Oh, and he wasn't talking to me. I can like you more if you're quiet. All that to say that I watched the girl prepare my food. Watched. Her. Prepare. My. Food. She then HANDED me the food. No delay between prep and delivery. Literally less than 5 minutes later, I'm eating my food. Or rather, realizing my food needs reheated. 30 seconds in the microwave. Draw your own...
Read moreBarberton location ..feel sorry for anyone that has to work with the so called manager "Harmony". We usually frequent this location twice a week, but will not be back until Harmony is fired, as from the sounds and looks of it, she won't and shouldn't be there long. None of the staff likes her, maybe with the exception of another worker named Dominic, they must be dating. Went in as usual on Mon 9/22 around 840pm...unfortunately Harmony was on the line...it was 5 of us, she tried to skimp on the rice (a spoonful then spread it across the bottom of the bowl) and had a visible attitude when asked for more rice. I started to walk out then. .we all wanted carne asada, she literally put 5 pieces of carne in the bowls...asked for a little more, not extra, but more so the amount of carne would justify paying $14 for it...she said with an attitude, "I can give you a little more, but its going to be extra"..Harmony said its only supposed to be 4 oz of meat...I assured her that the 5 lonely pieces of carne she had in the bowls was not 4oz ..she got combative ...has zero customer service skills and should not be a manager or employed there based off her attitude and the way she talks to customers...we didn't purchase anything and she and to throw away three bowls with the carne on them (lol)...too busy trying to be difficult that she as a manager didn't realize she cost the company $45 profit plus food waste over a few pieces of meat! My 14 yr old daughter stood there mortified at Harmony's behavior and had not said a word during the ordeal..as we turned to leave, Harmony then says something to my 14 year old daughter...I gave that witch a piece of my mind and left...before we left, a guy named Dominic came from the back not even knowing the story, and defends Harmony's actions towards children, so I assume he has to be her boyfriend....other employees apologized profusely (as we are regulars there) and said Harmony always acts like that and that customers always have a problem w her...some of the staff there even mouthed "thank you" to me after I told her off!
Hopefully a district or regional manager reads this.. Harmony needs to go back to training or demoted bc onw day she is going to run into pissing a customer off not as nice as me with ber micro aggressions and they are going to come across that...
Read moreMy wife had ordered two separate orders consisting of a combination of nine burritos/bowls on Saturday, April 25, 2020 totalling over $100. The order was placed online to the store through the Chipotle app an hour and a half before a pickup time of 7:00pm. When we arrived to the location that the order was placed (Barberton, Ohio), there was a crowd of 20 or more people gathered outside (as well as the people whom were waiting in their vehicles), we discovered that they were all waiting for their orders. There was no social distancing or any protective measures being taken to prevent the spread of the ongoing pandemic, to which I am sure the BBB or Health Department would have major concerns. We decided to be patient and wait in our vehicle anyway. After 45 minutes and multiple unhelpful calls to the store/customer service, we were very upset at the lack of help in trying to cancel our order and getting a refund. There were people that had later pickup times getting their orders before us. We were not the only ones that this was happening to. My 9 month pregnant wife and two infant children were very hungry so this was a major inconvenience to our evening, along with many other peoples'. It is surprising that there isn't a cutoff for orders or some other way to avoid this from happening. We will never order from this location ever again and will always think twice when ordering...
