Going out to eat for us is a bit of a luxury right now and we always prefer to support local businesses, so when given an opportunity, we decided to go out for breakfast. We were given a menu and an additional specials card. The specials had no prices for anything, which is frustrating because it forces patrons to ask for pricing or just be surprised when the bill arrives. (And I get that prices can change, but when it was for a specific holiday and printed on paper, I think prices could have easily been included.) We were lucky enough to overhear the table next to us ask for prices so we knew the breakfast special was $13.99 for your choice of waffle or french toast with fruit and whipped cream. Our waitress came to take our order and I asked her multiple questions regarding the options comparing the special with menu items and how they are served. She kept referring to the french toast as stuffed french toast as the special and it's been my experience that stuffed french toast is soggy and usually has some kind of cream filling so we didn't want that. We asked about regular french toast with the fruit and she said there was a platter that came with a side of meat. I asked if we could get that with the fruit and whipped cream, and she said, yes. After we decided we would go with that option, my husband and I both ordered the same thing. The regular french toast platter with meat is $9.99 and we assumed it would be $13.99 with the fruit because of the upcharge for the special. Again, I confirmed what we were ordering and how it would be served. Our order came out rather quickly, but it was just the plain french toast so we told the server how we ordered it and she apologized and took it back to the kitchen. A little while later the food came out again and this time they gave us the stuffed french toast, which was incorrect again, but at least it had the fruit and side of meat so at that point we were hungry, tired of waiting, and figured it was close enough to what we ordered so we just accepted it. When we received our bill, we were surprised to see that we were charged $16.99 a piece! They charged us $13.99 for the special and $3.00 each for the side of meat (which was one round, thin, dry piece of ham, cut in two pieces). We talked to the waitress about it and she said she had no control over it and would send a manager over. The manager came over and I explained to her what we ordered and what we were told and she was very rude and short with me. She kept saying she didn't understand what I was talking about and just kept interrupting me. Then she grabbed the bill and said, "so what you're saying is that you got exacltly what you ordered, but you don't want to pay for it." I was stunned! The simple fact is that we were very clear in asking questions and ordering. We were given the wrong food twice, but finally accepted it because it was 'close enough' and we didn't want to keep sending it back. I have never in my life complained about food to get something for free and for her to accuse me of something like that was unprofessional, rude, and just plain offensive! I took the bill from her and said never mind, I'm just going to pay it and she just stormed away. Never tried to resolve the issue, never showed professionalism, never showed kindness. We won't go back. And I know that probably doesn't mean much to them, but I think people should know when something like...

Read moreThis place is phenomenal! Just went there today for the first time....and will be going back soon!! It looks deceiving at first but is quite cozy without feeling too close. They do offer outdoor seating as well. Our waitress was Clara and she was Amazing! Honestly though, everyone we encountered was pleasant, helpful and made you feel welcomed. The food, especially breakfast had unique takes. For example, I had a Reuben omelet, minus the dressing and home fries. DELICIOUS!!! Don't be scrunching up your face when I tell you the dill pickles really complimented this dish. The home fries were cooked to order, extra crispy and seasoned just right. Mom had the Western omelet that was loaded with ham, onion and cheddar cheese and home fries. Her dish was FANTASTIC! They change their breakfast waffles and I initially went to try their bourbon waffle (can't recall if the bourbon was in the maple syrup or waffle or both). Today it was a blueberry and lemon waffle topped with lemon pudding. Next week they are offering a pineapple upside down waffle. Look them up for their current menu...oh and they are also serving an Ethiopian dinner for 4 this week. Reservations required. Finally, I apologize for showing our 1/2 eaten meals, I forgot to photograph them 1st. The 1st photo is the Western omelet & the 2nd is the...
