Potbelly — Restaurant in Barrington Township

My wife and I personally like Potbelly sandwiches. Like a lot. We order Potbelly's at least once a week, sometimes we get carried away and order 3x a week. Yeah, we have a problem. But hey, they are good sandwiches. Anyways, in regards to this location, overall the food is great, otherwise I wouldn't keep coming back. In the restaurant biz, it needs to be understood that not all orders are perfect, and honestly I'd say probably 90% of my orders are correct. Sometimes I do call and complain about the issue, but where this location shines is the customer service. Every time I have had an issue and called, the manager on site goes above and beyond to fix the issue. I truly appreciate this; I don't think I've ever encountered such great customer service in any restaurant I have been. I'm going to keep ordering from here, and will I encounter a couple of issues here and there? For sure! We're all human! Even computer programs have issues/bugs! My verdict? If you're craving a sandwich, go in and order your sandwich at this...

Potbelly sandwiches are pretty decent for fast food. Had never been to this location. Young man that waited on us was very nice and polite.

However, the place was filthy. We noticed when standing by the register that there was dust and food crumbs all over that area. Then when we were looking for a table, literally every one of them was filthy. Food crumbs on every table and even all over the chairs. Food crumbs and lettuce all over the floor. It was 2:00 pm and there was only a few people eating and hardly anyone trickling in, so the workers had plenty of time to clean the tables (but obviously didn't). We had to get a bunch of napkins and wipe off a table for ourselves. When we were eating, not one other customer came in and all but one of the employees disappeared into the back and never came back out. Why weren't they cleaning the tables, chairs...

So I placed an online order and made two separate orders, one accidentally went to Algonquin because my work is closer to Algonquin location and I didn't catch that for my second order that I placed. I called Algonquin and asked them to cancel my order there and i will place another order at South Barrington location. Anyways long story short, boys at South Barrington location were really nice, understood the issue and made both of my orders quickly without a wait and were also kind enough to accommodate the perk price I had originally paid via app. Over all am really happy with the service. Refund from online transaction might take a while, which i understand but wanted to acknowledge the kindness the boys showed towards my issue. Thank you once again.
