Carl’s Jr. — Restaurant in Barstow

On a recent trip from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, I stopped at this Carl's Jr and now avoid them altogether. Especially, considering the Burger King across the street had the same price odity and they made the adjustment before I asked for it.

At Carl's Jr. I ordered a burger, small sweet potato fries, and the cookie ice cream. The price quoted was a lot higher than the value meal price, even though the small sweet potato fries were cheaper than the large fries, and the cookie was cheaper than the large beverage that comes standard in the meal. I pointed out the unreasonable price increase compared to the combo meal and asked that it be reconsidered. The original teller was polite, agreed that the price difference did not seem appropriate, but insisted she had no way to adjust it in her terminal. Then the manager joined the conversation and told me to take it or leave it, and that this was the price whether it makes sense or not. So, with no one in line behind me, I left it. I walked accross the street to Burger King. I ordered a similar variation on the meal. When the price came out higher than the combo meal, the clerk pointed this out to me and told me he was adjusting the price to match the combo meal because each of the items I orders was identical or cheaper than the combo meal individual price, before I asked. Carl's Jr of Barstow Ca not only a standout among all Carl's jr.. but all fast food places . They always greet me with a smile, explain to me which sandwich has the pepper in it (the chicken )when I ask repeatedly without complaint.. before I can make a payment , they have recommended complimentary products as well. The food + Drinks here are more flavorful than other fast food chains.Even the soda taste's fresher. They seem to have a great team spirit among their employees. They are checking and cleaning indoors and outdoors hourly. Before you finish your meal, they offer to take your tray or help seat you and bag your leftovers. Who does that? You can mix your fountain soda drinks. I luv that to create your own sensation. When they are really busy, they will bring your meal outside to your parked car as they catch up their orders . But they go about their business happily! Before+after they opened or closed they waved at me from inside. As a former trucker female, I appreciate that they have truck parking too. The entire front row is supposed to be handicapped parking but the Lexus' +Caddy's ignore the large warns and back in the spot so they can claim they didn't know it was for handicapped people. I was very displeased and the fact that it was my first time using the app and the cashier Joey acted like she had no idea how to use the app or what to do in order to help the guest along seamlessly using the app and making their first transaction. They said that they have no idea how to use the app and that they're never trained on it and that the customers tell them how to use it. This is very frustrating as I am a store manager for 12 years for another brand and I make sure that all of our team members are trained on the use of the app in order to help our guests have a great experience. Again I was very frustrated before I left the counter so I wanted to let you know that I believe that Carl's Jr or this particular location needs to make sure that their team members are trained on the app in order to provide great satisfaction.
