Plata's Mexican Food — Restaurant in Barstow

Pro: Great food, from Great people. You wont leave hungry, that's for sure.

Cons: Cost, They were once a great value for the $$$ but are no longer... add on anything to your food (I.E.: cheese) and your cost increases 33% or more. What was once a $3 combo (3 potato/cheese burritos), is now about $7 A huge increase from just a few years ago. Basically pricing has gone wild!!!

This was my second visit to Plata’s, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the good reviews. It feels like they’re struggling. Many reviews mention generous portions, but that wasn’t my experience-far from it.

I ordered a carne asada salad, a burrito, and a coffee, which cost me $26. The salad was mostly lettuce with a tiny portion of meat, and the burrito looked small. When I opened it, I realized it was stuffed with more salad than anything else, with barely any meat.

The things they do to their potatoes here! I wasn't expecting much from Barstow but this place is awesome and super budget friendly. Vegetarian friendly.
