We enjoy the food. The problem is the last 2 times we went we were shorted food and not given senior discount. The first time they gave us 2 free large drinks because we had to come back (immediately). The second time the new manager said "we have to cut back on free food"...so no free drinks for driving back over to their store instead of eating the food hot. HOW DIFFICULT IS IT TO GET THE ORDER CORRECT?

The deal with the senior discount is they said they would do it at the window. We never made it to the window. They brought out our incomplete order to the car while we were 3 cars back. So NO DISCOUNT! But even if you say senior discount when you order... they don't put it in the system so they will probably forget to give it to you when they print the ticket and take your money WITH NO DISCOUNT!!! As Biden says "c'mon man!"
12/16/2020: Popeyes announced they reevaluated their decision not to come to bartlesville and decided they were coming after all!
05/04/2021: We've learned to adjust our take out orders so we don't go thru the original/repeated problems mentioned above. We have been very satisfied lately with our orders and eat chicken express takeout somewhat regularly now.
We did run into an issue trying to use 2 gift cards on our last visit. We were told we were limited to using 1 gift card per visit. Go figure. :(
11/2013 We stopped eating fish fillets at Chicken Express. The last several times the fish are cooked fine on the outside. But the center seems to be raw or watery. We figure it's a new owner or manager. Either way it's consistent and it's gross.

This place serves 2 things, fried chicken and fried fish. Of the two things you can get here, one of those items was not ready. Come on people, it's fast food! It's not like this stuff goes bad on the warmer trays. If I am going to have to wait 20 minutes for fried fish, I want to see a big fisherman/cook bread the fish himself and then dip it in a fryer. Then, I'd probably like to hear the story for the sixth time of how it was caught by noodling (look it up if you don't know)!
Anyway, the staff was nice enough to grossly under-estimate the amount of time we would have to wait for this insult to every man who has ever caught a fish and fried it. They were off by about 15 minutes. They did include all of the condiments without us having to ask for them. Thank (insert your invisible deity here), because this would have required a trip back inside the restaraunt since we had been previously "parked" by the drive through window attendant.
Look, if you have to satify some sick craving for mushy fried fish with no flavor that carries a list of ingrediants that would get you taken off the heart transplant list, by all means, stop in at Chicken Express. Read moreMy issue with this place is they dont cook the Gizzards fresh. I'm from Texas and visit this town frequently. ALL the Texas CE cook gizzards to order and not have them sitting out. Who wants dry gizzards? When I pulled up to the window and paid the lady handed me my food when I'm usually told I have to wait about 5 mins or so. I then asked the lady at the window if they were fresh and she said yes they are. I told her I was gonna check. Drove down the road to find out, the gizzards were hard and dry. I then return and ask the employee to make me fresh ones because these aren't fresh. She gladly said ok and had them drop me fresh ones. The manager then comes out and tells me that it's not company policy to drop fresh ones that they have them made and set out. Gizzards dont have a shelf life like tenders. They harden faster. Well basically the manager was rude, made me feel like I didnt know what I was talking about and just stood there and stared at me. Didnt apologize or say anything more. I told him I wouldn't be coming back and he had nothing to say about it. So I rate this a 2 instead of a 1 because the employees were very nice and friendly. -4 because the manager needs courses on how to make a customer happy.
