I get cravings for CREPES! IHop has crepes, crepes, CREPES! My favorite is strawberry-banana cream cheese crepes with whipped cream. They are uniform in taste from one IHop to the next. Prep time is also consistant. The only thing that varies from store to store (restaurant) is the SERVICE. My visit before last the service was horrible! We got there at 11:00 p.m. after the rush hour. It was 12 degrees outside. They were basically empty, except for TWO tables. We stood waiting to be seated for 17 minutes, no one came. I went to the "ready station" retrieved two menus. We sat to check our choices. The night manager was coming in and out of the kitchen. Never acknowledged us! The waitress continued waiting on her two tables and filling her sugar boxes, salt and peppers, ketchup bottles, laying out tables with silverware and syrup dispensers! Finally, after 37 minutes I got MIFFED and said loudly, "Well, I guess our money is not wanted here. She can't flirt with you and sashay about because I am with you so she's just going to ignore us! Come on let's go!" At THAT the manager came OUT of the kitchen, spouting all sorts of "I'm sorry's" to which I stated that the whole restaurant was sorry and I was mortified because I had worked at IHop's all over and if upper managment KNEW how this one was lax in customer service they would send in a troubleshooter and there would be massive firings for all! That ultimately as night manager it was HER job to fix that situation or step in and wait on the customers. We stayed and ate, it was 12 degrees with windchill at negative 4 degrees! When we got ready to leave they wanted to "comp" us our meal, which I declined. She asked "why" and I flatly stated "Because I want proof that we bought a meal and since we got there at 11 and it was now nearly 3 a.m. and we waited a long time to be seated, to get our orders taken, to eat and get our ticket to be able to leave. Plus, I intend to inform corporate of the circumstances. One more thing, if your establishment happens to be a franchised store, your owner is violating the terms of their franchise by-laws by allowing this degree of ineptitude. Have a good morning." We left. Next day I made phone calls. We've gotten promos for that store. There are others, we will use those. They appreciate...
Read moreI asked my kids where do you want to go and they scream IHOP. I have always liked the breakfast all day option at any place that offers it. So we pull up at 5pm on a Saturday night. There was like 6 or 7 cars and the place was empty. Being from the food industry that should have been a hint not to go but you don't argue with 4 children when they want IHOP. Friendly waitress. Can't remember her name. I ordered the kids food first so they could be occupied while I search for what I wanted. Waitress came back with or waters and asked if was ready. I placed my order and she went to check on their food. My omelet came out with one of the kids pancakes. I thought it was quick even for an omelet to come out so quick. Then I look at it. I had ordered it with American cheese as it was one of two options. The American cheese wasn't even melted. And under that was melted shredded cheddar with want ordered. So I took one bite and asked for it to be fixed then two minutes later they bring me the Sam omelet with the cheese slightly melted like they put it in a microwave. The waitress brought the kids some applesauce for the problem. I then reminded her I had ordered a drink. She brought that out with myhashbrowns for my meal. I scooped up one bite look at my plate and there was a hair on the plate under the bite I just took. I asked for a manager she was very polite and told me she would get me something else. I had lost my appetite and just went...
Read moreOur visit to Bartlesville IHOP was a train wreck. It will not be repeated. Our server was new and tried very hard but he is not a one man show. We had a coupon for buy one entree and get one free. Our ticket still came to $30 and the amount of food we got was skimpy. With my meal I ordered a salad with Italian dressing. He brought my salad which didn't look at all fresh, and said that they were out of Italian dressing so he brought ranch instead. I would rather starve than eat ranch dressing. Seriously, I'm not eating that garbage!
I pushed it to the side, asked for a go-box (3 times) took my salad home and ate it with my own salad dressing later. We waited over 30 minutes for food. On their app, I was given a voucher for a free stack of pancakes for my birthday. Because we were using a coupon, the birthday offer was not valid. A simple courtesy, a birthday offer, like most restaurants who give you a free dessert or appetizers just for celebrating your special occasion with them. Something as simple as a stack of pancakes, could not be given to a customer because they were using a coupon, without which our meal would have been $60 instead of $30 for very little food.
I don't care about their pancakes because quite frankly IHOP is the last place I ever want to celebrate a birthday again. In fact, I do not recommend IHOP in any City. Especially this one. Thanks IHOP, for the slap in the face on what should have been a...
