I have been here only a handful of times with each experience more negative than the one before. A recent visit was no exception. One lady even sounded like she had a terrible cold in which I should have left right then.
The baristas are always nice though and the place is beautifully decorated which I guess compensates for the quality of their teas.
The first tea I ever had was disappointing, watered down, but I am always willing to give another chance. The second time I explained to Paula, please don't make it watery, yet she made it extra watery. I brought it to her attention. She asked what she could put in it to make it better. I said I will take it as it is with the intentions of not going again. I should have kept that mindset.
I went back recently with about 6 months since past visit. She remembered me. I ordered a layered tea, or at least that's how I thought they were supposed to be. She came from behind a bigger woman shaking the drink like it was a cocktail blending the colors to become dark blue. Of course, I complained again. Paula was like, "Oh, you wanted it layered?" Me, "Well, yeah...isn't that the point?" Paula asked once again what she could make me. Very irritated, I said I have to go drop my car off and am in a hurry. I took the blue drink and left. My son had just a couple sips while we were waiting on the shuttle to take us home. Within 45 minutes of this drink, not even 2/3s into it, I became violently ill and my son shortly after. I lost seven pounds in that first hour and twelve pounds in total that day. I excreted nothing but blue liquid from my behind over and over and over and over. My son who was also ill briefly, his two or three sips to my 2/3 cup was no contest...
I called them the following day I believe a couple times during operating hours with no answer or Paula not in, but left a message. I even reached out on FaceBook and received ZERO response. Paula seemed to have always meant well, but this time I feel like I was DELIBERATELY poisoned. No, this is not something I ate, nor is this a virus. This is this particular drink. She has been given PLENTY of opportunities to make this right, call back, refund me, or whatever, but she DID NOT and she should lose her license. This is serious and should brought to EVERYONE'S...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI cannot start my day without Hometown Nutrition! Not only for the teas, but for the atmosphere! Hometown knows my family and always engages with us about our personal lives. They make me feel like more than just a customer.
Hometown's loaded teas are the best in the business and they will always make things right if you aren't as satisfied as you were before. A few of my favorites include: Georgia Peach + Passion Fruit, Freshly Squeezed, Hippie, Peter Cottontail, Scarecrow #1, and Fresh Start. When closed (which is rare), I'm a fan of their set ups though I miss the atmosphere when I make it myself at home.
Special shout out to Paula, Jordan, Mariah, and Jess for always making my teas just...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy daughter visited Hometown Nutrition with her friend this morning for the first time ever. She said it was a wonderful experience, the drinks were delicious and the employees were very very friendly and super excited that this was their first time visiting. They were very helpful, and my daughter said she wants to go there all the time now. My wife and I just visited, and I have to say that everything she said was true. Really helpful and friendly employees, really large selection of teas and drinks, very knowledgeable about the nutrition and health benefits of all the different combinations of ingredients. Definitely making this place a...
