I am a delivery driver and arrived about 12:30pm on 24 Aug 2018, to pick up an order for a delivery customer.
After waiting 5 minutes or so (not a long wait -not the point here) for the customers in line to decide what they wanted, place their orders and finally step up to a register myself I let the woman (I do not use the word âladyâ intentionally) behind the register know my Uber order number and she reached back to the shelf behind her and took the order to give to me. I politely asked if they could possibly allow us to pick up delivery orders closer to the door Wy from the registers(?) to avoid delays in delivering food. She snapped at me: âNo, thatâs our policy and weâre not changing it!â. I explained how we lose money not being paid while waiting in line behind customers who just arrived... She dropped the bag into my hands and said sarcastically: :Here, donât be late.â Rather than escalate the situation and make it even more unpleasant for everyone, I simply said: That is really inconsiderateâ and departed quickly. I had just gotten through explaining some rules to the folks at another restaurant in Bartlet just a few minutes prior, and just wanted to get away from these unpleasant people.
Drivers are not paid to wait in line. Not only the wait time, but the fuel and time driving to a restaurant to get an order are not reimbursed/paid to us either. So when you add wait time to that, One delivery from the time we accept to the time the food is delivered, could take up to 30 minutes or even longer, with only a $3.00 delivery payment to the driver. So you see, the longer we are required to wait, the less we are compensated for our time.
This is not a good business practice -especially when the delivery customer ordered well before any of the people waiting in line.
Please consider moving the delivery pickup spot to the end of the counter near the door, away from the registers(?)
I am an independent contract driver, and do not rely on anyone else to communicate with restaurant owners/managers because they donât really care much about the drivers either -only making their money for providing the app and network service. I run my own delivery business and contract with several companies to make deliveries.
I love Firehouse subs, but will not likely return to this one, even though it costs me money to refuse a delivery. I just donât need that thpe of experience, as it is not productive for anyone involved and...
Read moreokay so I love firehouse subs but this particular firehouse subs has messed up my order three times in a row now.. all I ask is for a turkey, cheddar cheese and tomato sandwich on white bread and every time they give me a ham sandwich with provolone cheese or mayo or anything that I didn't ask for ... and all three times I've thrown the sandwich away because nobody in my family likes ham .. so the 2nd time they screwed up my order I called them and I very angrily explained how they've messed up my order twice and they said well did u say turkey cheese and tomato only and I said oh no I don't think I did so this time I said ONLY after my order and I come home open my sandwich praying it's right bc by now it's been an hour since I left the house (bc they are so slow at making simple sandwiches FYI & Idk why because shouldn't they be fast if they're serving firefighters who have to be ready for any emergencies) so I open my sandwich and I see a HAM, PROVOLONE CHEESE, BACON, AND TOMATO sandwich and I'm furious because the receipt said turkey cheese and tomato only so I'm very very very angry and almost in tears bc I was really craving a darn firehouse subs sandwich but no sadly I had to throw $20 down the drain bc once again nobody wanted the fricken ham sandwich which is so simple to make btw so I really don't understand how they screwed it up tbh.. I thought about calling them again but instead I decided to write this google review bc now I am very sad bc im still craving a warm turkey, cheese, and...
Read moreI love most firehouse subs locations. I even signed up for the rewards program because I used to really enjoy them. This location is not very good though. They did not give me any points, even though my order was almost $50. I didn't think too much of it though because I thought that I would be able to submit my receipt through the app and get the points that way. However, the points have not shown up on my account. I emailed customer support to ask about the problem and they gave me a long list of things that I would need to include in my submission. Unfortunately, the receipt is really long and you can't be close enough to read it if you want to see the whole thing because the ink is really faded. Their printer was almost out of ink, it shouldn't be my fault that they can't read every single thing on it. I explained this nicely to them, and they said that they would need me to send them a copy of my bank statement if I wanted to get the points. I should not have to send them this personal information. Who knew just getting a few points would be so difficult? I haven't eaten at any firehouse subs restaurants since then, which really sucks because they have good food. If this situation can be made right, I will give them another...
