We found this unique café by chance! There was a billboard that advertised VooDoo Café with pictures of their famous voodoo doll shaped beignets with a red spear in the doll. I loved their advertisement and decided to go check it out myself.
It's located off a rather busy roadway with plenty of parking! When you walk in, the walls are covered in art from located artist, family board games to play while you eat, handmade crafts, and voodoo crocheted dolls.
Their menu has just about anything to please anyone! Hot coffee, cold coffee, and even uncommon drinks. Their selection of voodoo beignets is so large that you can get more than one to share!
They have traditional Nutella, cinnamon, and peanut butter along with other flavors.
The customer service was great!! The employee who took our order gave us their recommendations and what pairs best.
If you like the VooDoo atmosphere and flavorful drinks and food, definitely make a pit stop to...
Read moreIâve visited this establishment many times, but today the service was extremely disappointing. I placed an online order, and when I came in to pick it up, I politely asked if I could have a small side of Nutella. The owner replied very loudly and in a condescending tone, âYou can pay for it,â as if I was asking for something free. I was shockedânot just by what was said, but by how it was said. A simple, professional response such as, âSure, that will be 61 cents,â would have been perfectly fine. Instead, I left feeling disrespected. Very rude and unnecessary. Edit response: thank you for your response. Again I fully understand the need to clarify pricing of extraâs-I am a paying customer and I expect to pay, however as I stated previously the tone was condescending, rude, and uncalled for. Also there was no one else in the establishment at that time besides myself, my daughter, and 1 other person on a laptop. It was not loud nor busy...
Read moreThis place was great! Where to start? Huge, unique coffee and tea offerings. I had the Thai Iced Tea. It was very good. My mom had the Vietnamese Coffee. She loved it. We split a three pack of the begniets then had a specialty one, Sweet Juju, to share. All was wonderful!
The owner came over to chat with us. He wanted to make sure we saw his cool food truck. He told us it took him 5 years to build in the evenings. He also pointed out a young girl who was celebrating her birthday. He told us she was the family friend the the Sweet Juju was named after. He says you can't keep it more local that that!
There were games on a shelf to play while you enjoyed your snack and coffee. There was local art on the walls available for purchase. This NOLA theme cafe is quite the gem. I wish we lived closer becuase this would be a great place the hangout. We will definitely visit on our next...
