After sleeping in my truck and getting a crick in my neck, I was for sure not going to put up with exit ramp chain food for breakfast or cold stuff from the cooler. Google Maps showed me this gem two miles from me, and in glad I came.
Pros: The coffee was GOOD and fresh. Pam (waitress) was a delight. Cook (owner??) had great interaction with the staff (I sat right by the kitchen window) and plenty of good humor. The special "Killer hashbrowns" were killer (even without the gravy - I'm GF) - fresh veggies sauteed well, hashbrowns as crispy as I asked for. Just add the Cholula, which they have, and it was a great breakfast!
Cons: They had the breakfast basics, but the menu seemed a little thin (no Huevos?), and the servers didn't quite seem as knowledgeable about details (does this come with eggs, etc) as I'd like. But neither of those were deal breakers.
Other: I can't have the homemade cinnamon rolls (again, I'm GF), but I heard other tables raving. Would have loved to try one, even if $3.50 seems a bit much for a smaller than expected roll.
All in, fantastic breakfast! Come support this...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I have never had such a negative experience at a restaurant. We sat down in the side room when there were not very many customers in the restaurant. It took a very long time for us to get menus and speak to a server, and we didn’t put our food order in until 20 minutes after sitting down. 10 minutes after we ordered another group sat down that the waitress personally knew, and they put their order in immediately and got their food within 10 minutes. We had to sit there for nearly an hour before we finally got our food despite being promised that it was almost ready for over 30 minutes.
Believe it or not ANOTHER group that the waitress knew sat down right before we got our food and they got their food right after us. It’s obvious that they treat the regulars as first rate customers and don’t care about their non regulars. I have never not tipped at a restaurant before but this was the first time.
On top of that the menu was awful without descriptions for the items so we had to look them up online. Basehor born and raised but I will...
Read moreHave visited Perky's multiple times and it's always good, fresh and hot. This review takes a star off for a couple reasons. I ordered take-out. The online system allowed me to specify a time and I set it 20-25 minutes out bc I needed to wrap up a meeting before I left. I got a text 8 minutes later that my order was ready, and I wasn't even ready to leave the house yet. Then when I got there, I waited a minute, then saw one employee, who saw me, walked to the back room and never resurfaced. I waited another minute, starting to get annoyed. I saw a bag sitting there at the waiter station, so I took the liberty of making sure it was my order, and just grabbed it and left. The breakfast sandwich was great, the hashbrowns weren't crispy at all.
IF this had been my first visit to Perky's I would have reviewed it much lower but we've been there multiple times for dine-in, and have been very pleased with the service and food. So, I have to consider this a 1 in 10 event. It will make me think twice about ordering online for...
