Shipley Do-Nuts — Restaurant in Bastrop

Whoever the slow kid is working the register that can barely concentrate doesn't need to be working a register, first off. I stopped thru here on the way home, got my order and left. I get home and the donuts are almost cold like from a refrigerator type of cold with a SERIOUS after taste. Keep in mind it doesnt smell like a donut shop. It smelled like a hospital in there. No smell of food of any kind. It was 930am, there's no reason for that. Arent donuts supposed to be hot when you get them from a donut shop? Kolaches are hard on the ends. Hard enough to be a crouton. We call up there and the workers acted like they didn't know who the manager was. Then a manager gets on the phone and when asked who her boss is, there was a lull and you can hear her talking to someone else, she then wants to ask what the call is about. We asked who her boss is and she said she doesn't know their name or who her boss is. We asked can we talk to someone else, she said no one was there. There was at least 5 people in the store. You sont know who your boss is? And giggled before the call ended. Seriously? They straight up don't care. Contacting a shipley...

Upon entering this "donut shop", I was surprised that it did not smell like donuts. I selected an apple fritter and a maple bar, two selections I love at Bastrop Donuts. Upon arriving home, I removed both items from the bag and was surprised at how dense and dry the maple bar was. It was filled with a runny version of that stuff they put in Twinkies. It did not taste like maple and the stuff inside was nasty. I threw it away.

As for the apple fritter, there was no evidence that an apple had ever been near the apple fritter. It was devoid of flavor and lacked the crisp exterior and soft interior that a fritter should have. Both items looked and tasted like they had been made in a factory far from Bastrop and shipped here. Perhaps that's how they...

i’ve been going to shipleys since 2022 and just found out they opened a location in bastrop and was ecstatic since it’s closer to me, went around 4pm and the donuts were fresh and there was still a variety of them too i love getting a warm glazed donut there is nothing like it mostly when they make them right in front of you! got a jalapeño kolache as well and it was sooo good i love how they’re always warm no matter the time if it’s morning or afternoon, and love how the girl that is always there in the afternoons always has a smile on her face whereas most places you go to they’re just frowning at you shipleys makes you feel actually welcomed their staff is always...
