Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Batavia Township

I made a review of this location a couple years ago, but felt compelled to write an updated review. The food is still just as exceptional - always the most super fresh, highest quality ingredients. It's the service that really stands out at Amelia Jersey Mike's, though!! They have THE BEST customer service of any restaurant (from fast food to five star establishments) I've ever been to - consistently! I've never received lackluster customer service at this location. The vast majority of the staff are young adults (late teens to early 20's, I'd estimate), but they are the most efficient, friendly, professional staff! They always greet customers upon entry, make eye contact, sincerely smile and go over and above to make sure every order is correct and every customer is happy. I have been coming to this store for a few years and nearly every employee there has memorized my order and is already getting it prepared before I can even get the words out of my mouth :-) And I have NEVER, not one time, in my (probably) hundred-plus visits, seen a staff member with their cell phone out! That is so (annoyingly) commonplace these days! But the staff at this store are totally professional and focused on their customer only! This store is also ALWAYS clean. I've never seen so much as a napkin on the floor. The staff is not only attentive to the customers, but to the store as well. The potato chips are always fully, neatly stocked and the soda fountain is never sticky or dirty. Honestly, I eat at Jersey Mike's because I love the high quality, delicious food, but I go to this location (even if it means passing closer locations) because of the incredible people who work here! I was really excited when I heard about a new Jersey Mike's opening up in my area. I used to frequent the Eastgate location, when I worked over there. We got 3 different kinds of sandwiches and two different wraps. All of the sub sandwiches were terrible. The ingredients and even the bread were awful. The only somewhat edible items were the wraps, but do not get lettuce on them! The lettuce was wilted, bitter, and ruined what little redeemable value the rest of the wrap had. The food was a far cry from what I used to eat at the East gate and Cherry Grove locations. I don't know if this is a company wide change in ingredients, as it's been a few years since I've frequented the chain, but I can say that my experience at this new location was uniquely terrible. I can only hope that this experience was limited to the location, as I have very much enjoyed JMS's food, in the past. I sure wish I'd have known about the change or the poor quality of the food, before I dropped $40 dollars on what became two barely edible wraps. Very depressing. The Wendy's value menu looks amazing, next to this. I will certainly not be returning to this restaurant, but I do hope they get their issues sorted. I'm new to the Jersey Mike's game. I normally have eaten at those other sub places but recently tried Mike's and I tell ya what, I really like the food BUT I love the customer service at this location even more. I don't know where they found the young adults who work there but management did a great job hiring these folks. I've only been in there 3 times but all of those times, the customer service I received was exceptional. My most recent visit, I hadn't realized that I came in shortly before close and having worked in restaurants for 20 yrs, I really try not to do that. So, I apologized and explained that I worked in restaurants and I know how it sucks to have your stuff cleaned up and a customer come in so close to closing. These young adults said, "no, problem, we just like having the business" and had smiles on their faces. They were kind, friendly, polite and went out of their way to make sure that I was taken care of. Even going so far as to slice some green peppers for me because they were out on the line. I was super impressed with the level of customer service I received from these young adults. Makes me have a bit of hope for the younger generation.
