Terrible experience at Los Cabos last night. Called ahead to see if they accept reservations for a birthday party of 10 people with 2 of them needing high chairs. They dont do reservations, which is fine but we were trying to be courteous. Arrived first as two adults and ordered a happy hour marg while waiting for the rest the party. The server, Tori, came back while we were all getting situated. She made several comments about the seating ardangement and acted like it was the most stressful moment of her life. Until we ordered drinks. Or food. Basically- everything we did as a table stressed this poor girl out. 4 of the grown adults at this table had either provided for their family as servers, or were currently still serving as a career. So we get it. But several comments crossed the line. One involving a mother and not being ablw to figure out which child was hers. One about how our table was "traumatizing"...... not okay when it's a THIRD BIRTHDAY. The entire time we dined with Tori we kept reassuring her we were in no rush, take your time. We understand. No worries. No rush. But at one point she raised her voice at a friend of mine "IT'S ALL ON ME" she said. When that firned mistook another server for our own. "Are you our server?" "No but i can help you out if you need something" "No it's fine i just was going to ask for a refill" Our server comes back almost immediately and snaps something like: she can't do anything with you guys "IT'S ALL ON ME" Wow. Is she overwhelmed or what? So we sat there last night- empty cups, no water for half the table. Empty soda. And when i ordered my entree i specifically asked if i could have NO CARROTS in my chimichanga. If not- i would order something else. She said it was fine, i would get everything else still. That's wonderful! Well, my food came ans the first bite had a big carrot in it. So guess who didnt eat dinner. After being made to feel bad about sitting in her section, celebrating a birthday, ordering drinks and special request items on my food-- i couldn't say anything. We needed the checks and to leave. At this point as we are all reaching into our wallets to pay and as we are leaving, the server ia heard saying we were "just traumatizing." Yeah girl, imagine celebrating birthdays, graduations, and big deals at a restaurant for 15 years only to be called names when your food comes out wrong. Not a great experience. And we won't be back until this issue...
Read moreThis place was packed. Not sure why. This native Texan grew up with mom and pop, local Mexican restaurants and I will always try a new to me Mexican or tex-mex restaurant in the Cincinnati area if I come across one. Obviously popular to the locals, so go ahead and try it if you're in the area. Atmosphere was friendly and everyone else seemed to be enjoying the place, so you might like it. Disclaimer: Please take the following with a sense of humor and not with an overly sensitive, politically correct attitude towards race or any issues related to illegal or undocumented immigrants, or migrants, or however your favorite national news channel chooses to tell you how you should think this week. Now back to the review. Our waiter was a very courteous, friendly white college kid who spoke very good English. Not a good sign if you like Mexican food. If you're like me, you want your server to have a hard time understanding you and make you wonder if they're legal or not, because you're only there for the fresh tortilla chips and salsa and the chicken enchiladas verdes. I live in N. KY and there's a couple of Mexican restaurants in Florence I visit regularly, but I don't think I'd be a repeat here. Left food on the plate and didn't bother with a box. I don't remember the last time I've left food on the plate at a Mexican restaurant. I usually think to myself, "man, I can't eat all this. Better save some for lunch tomorrow," and minutes later wondering how I ate all that and hoping I don't regret it...
Read moreOrdered carryout and when I arrived it wasn't ready. I told her the item I was waiting on. Sat inside for 20 minutes when a carryout was brought out. Hostess looked at slip but never asked anyone waiting if it was theirs. I decided after 20 minutes to get up and view the carry out slip receipt on the only single bag sitting there to see if it was my food, IT WAS! So naturally when I got my bag it was cold! Not one time did anyone ask if there was a "My name" waiting for that carry out so of course I asked for it to be remade. I was told it would be another 45 minutes wait and I was basically SOL. New hostess is rude. I've came here for years almost on a daily basis for a long time. No refund, no I'm sorry no discount nothing after all the waiting I already did as my food sat there almost 30 minutes getting cold. *Edit to add, this isn't the 1st time this happen. 1 week ago the same thing happen where I wasn't called by this said hostess and told my carry out was ready to be picked up. When I got my food, all the cheese was hard from how cold everything was. I called on this and manager gave a credit which was hot, good and appreciated. This incident that happen last night I'll be calling tomorrow to let him know his hostess isn't doing her job and he's potentially losing customers. A hostess is to make you feel welcome, smile when people come in and make them feel like you appreciate...
