I have driven by this place more times than I can count. It's either been closed (they have a limited schedule), or I've not had time to stop.... and then I did. I should mention right here that I went back the next day as well. When was the last time you went to the same place two nights in a row because you couldn't decide what you wanted the first time? Yes, the first time was that good. So was the second time. And so were the leftovers from both. You will have leftovers as the portions are massive. The TWO chicken fried steaks as a sandwich was phenomenal. A country boy portion of fried deliciousness. Oddly, it had no gravy on it, but it didn't really need it. The reuben was another beast. Ordered it to go, and it filled a dinner sized takeaway box. So tasty too. The place is jam packed at all times but the wait time was still only a few minutes. The staff is friendly and fast. The prices are great since most orders are two meals. Well... they should be anyway ;) This goes in the "don't miss" list 100%

Our first time at Wiz’s since they reopened. They were busy! We waited about 10mins for a table mostly because we had 5ppl in our party. We ordered the fried pickles for appetizer. I forgot to get a picture but they were really delicious. I ordered the fried catfish Sammie without bread and extra lettuce as kind of a lettuce wrap-ish. They only had pre shredded lettuce which was fine. The fried catfish was really delicious! I was very happy to have ordered it that way with less bread and it was still really tasty! They have my favorite catfish Sammie and they are consistently very good! My son ordered the Batesburger. It was 2 patties and really good! He pulled one of the patties off just to be able to eat it! Very well made burger! My husband had the hot wings. He said they were really good too. I kind of miss the old atmosphere of supporting the local schools but the new decor was cool; lots of movie and song references and tastefully done. Def a good go to place in Batesburg.

Met some family to eat. I had forgotten we had eaten here before so I will speak for myself. To start off, Breanna was our waitress. She was very friendly and a lot of fun! Her smile was contagious! I had the Reuben Sandwich. OMG, I got full just eating what had fallen off the sandwich! Very good and I ended up bringing half of it home and eating it for lunch the next day! Have a bottle of Thousand Island at the ready when you do though! As far as atmosphere, conversation at our table was a little difficult due to background chatter but that's to be expected at a busy restaurant. Prices were more than fair for what you get. We drove from Sandy Run to dine here and was skeptical about that long of a drive to eat but glad we did. Food was very good and I promise you won't leave hungry? The owner greeted us when we arrived and very personable. They make us feel like they're glad to see us! Overall an enjoyable experience and we will be back!

We stopped by The Wiz 2.0 on 09.03.25 for an early dinner before Bible study at our church in Graniteville. I had seen rave reviews in one of my local restaurant Facebook groups, and even though we live in Columbia, we decided it was worth the detour—and we’re so glad we did! When we pulled into the parking lot around 4:30 p.m., it was already packed, which is always a good sign. Even though the restaurant was buzzing, we only waited a few minutes before being seated at a high-top table in the bar area. The setup is inviting, with nine TVs and tables circling a large horseshoe-shaped bar. The whole place had a lively, welcoming vibe. Our server, Bre (apologies if I’m misspelling her name), greeted us right away with a smile and went over the specials. When we asked what she’d recommend for a first-timer, she gave us several thoughtful suggestions. My husband went with the meatloaf special, served with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and a warm, freshly baked dinner roll. I ordered the fried catfish with French fries, a trip to the salad bar, and—of course—a dinner roll. Let me just say: the rolls alone are worth the drive. Soft, warm, and perfectly baked—they’ll make your eyes roll back in your head. Portion sizes were massive. My plate came with two large pieces of perfectly fried catfish and a mountain of fries. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. We both ended up taking home full to-go boxes. Bre took excellent care of us throughout the meal, and we’ll definitely be asking for her again on our next visit. Between the great atmosphere, generous portions, and fantastic service, The Wiz 2.0 is an absolute winner.

We forgot to take photos! Next time!

Oh, and the meatloaf special had a neat promotion going on. Hidden inside the meatloaf was a couple of boiled eggs. If they cut into the egg when they cut your portion you won a $5 gift card. Guess who won! Thomas G Turner. His photo taken with Mrs. Wiz (Cheryl) and it was posed on Loving Wiz's Eatery within...

2.0 on this visit really needed to get a 3.0 reboot. We were shown to our booth and it had not been wiped and the lady didn't wipe it when she sat us and the waitress didn't either. I did it . We ordered our drinks and the waitress didn't have enough straws and she went to get more but made 3 rounds in the dining room taking other guests orders and food, never bringing back our straws. When she took our order we reminded her of it and she came back with them. When the food came it was about 3 minutes after we ordered. There is no possible way they cooked that food that fast! NO WAY!! It was luke warm at best so it was obvious. I asked if it was precooked and was told no but a double patty burger was just warm, chips were cold and floppy and greasy, chicken fingers were cold. It was obvious they weren't just cooked. I asked for fresh cooked chips from the waitress as we decided we would just eat the other since we just wanted to go and the waitress said she'd get them. She made numerous passes by our table, we were out of drinks and she finally brought us something and I asked about the chips and she was like, ohhh, it was someone else didn't do it and she went and got some. We couldn't wait to get out of there. Can't say this visit...

I dined at Wiz’s with 2 friends last night. Firstly it was a bit of a shock to order a Corona with lime and get a canned beer and a brandy snifter. Other than that the service was excellent. Heads up: the Batesburger with a couple toppings had no chance of being eaten like a burger. A heck of a value but HUGE and you’d need the overbite of a wolf to eat it like a burger. The lettuce and tomato were on the bottom and cooked from the heat of the rest of the components before our diner even realized they were there. Our other diner thought the wings she ordered - exclusively flats and sauces on the side- they were excellent. As for the Reuben. A load of tastelessness. It was gorgeous with a ton of meat but the reality was that the Swiss cheese was the only thing that was flavorful in it. Even the sauerkraut seemed to have been steeped in a tang busting sugar solution ! As old timers from the old Wiz’s and their former blooming onion appetizers, we respectfully request they go back to that rather than the petals they now serve. We will still go back to eat there but we will be asking far more questions than we did before and perhaps not as often...
