We stopped by The Wiz 2.0 on 09.03.25 for an early dinner before Bible study at our church in Graniteville. I had seen rave reviews in one of my local restaurant Facebook groups, and even though we live in Columbia, we decided it was worth the detourâand weâre so glad we did! When we pulled into the parking lot around 4:30 p.m., it was already packed, which is always a good sign. Even though the restaurant was buzzing, we only waited a few minutes before being seated at a high-top table in the bar area. The setup is inviting, with nine TVs and tables circling a large horseshoe-shaped bar. The whole place had a lively, welcoming vibe. Our server, Bre (apologies if Iâm misspelling her name), greeted us right away with a smile and went over the specials. When we asked what sheâd recommend for a first-timer, she gave us several thoughtful suggestions. My husband went with the meatloaf special, served with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and a warm, freshly baked dinner roll. I ordered the fried catfish with French fries, a trip to the salad bar, andâof courseâa dinner roll. Let me just say: the rolls alone are worth the drive. Soft, warm, and perfectly bakedâtheyâll make your eyes roll back in your head. Portion sizes were massive. My plate came with two large pieces of perfectly fried catfish and a mountain of fries. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. We both ended up taking home full to-go boxes. Bre took excellent care of us throughout the meal, and weâll definitely be asking for her again on our next visit. Between the great atmosphere, generous portions, and fantastic service, The Wiz 2.0 is an absolute winner.
We forgot to take photos! Next time!
Oh, and the meatloaf special had a neat promotion going on. Hidden inside the meatloaf was a couple of boiled eggs. If they cut into the egg when they cut your portion you won a $5 gift card. Guess who won! Thomas G Turner. His photo taken with Mrs. Wiz (Cheryl) and it was posed on Loving Wiz's Eatery within...
Read more2.0 on this visit really needed to get a 3.0 reboot. We were shown to our booth and it had not been wiped and the lady didn't wipe it when she sat us and the waitress didn't either. I did it . We ordered our drinks and the waitress didn't have enough straws and she went to get more but made 3 rounds in the dining room taking other guests orders and food, never bringing back our straws. When she took our order we reminded her of it and she came back with them. When the food came it was about 3 minutes after we ordered. There is no possible way they cooked that food that fast! NO WAY!! It was luke warm at best so it was obvious. I asked if it was precooked and was told no but a double patty burger was just warm, chips were cold and floppy and greasy, chicken fingers were cold. It was obvious they weren't just cooked. I asked for fresh cooked chips from the waitress as we decided we would just eat the other since we just wanted to go and the waitress said she'd get them. She made numerous passes by our table, we were out of drinks and she finally brought us something and I asked about the chips and she was like, ohhh, it was someone else didn't do it and she went and got some. We couldn't wait to get out of there. Can't say this visit...
Read moreI dined at Wizâs with 2 friends last night. Firstly it was a bit of a shock to order a Corona with lime and get a canned beer and a brandy snifter. Other than that the service was excellent. Heads up: the Batesburger with a couple toppings had no chance of being eaten like a burger. A heck of a value but HUGE and youâd need the overbite of a wolf to eat it like a burger. The lettuce and tomato were on the bottom and cooked from the heat of the rest of the components before our diner even realized they were there. Our other diner thought the wings she ordered - exclusively flats and sauces on the side- they were excellent. As for the Reuben. A load of tastelessness. It was gorgeous with a ton of meat but the reality was that the Swiss cheese was the only thing that was flavorful in it. Even the sauerkraut seemed to have been steeped in a tang busting sugar solution ! As old timers from the old Wizâs and their former blooming onion appetizers, we respectfully request they go back to that rather than the petals they now serve. We will still go back to eat there but we will be asking far more questions than we did before and perhaps not as often...
