Nice little family friendly place in the square. Street parking or you can park in the lot across the street. Small dining area up front where you can look out of the window which was very quiet. More dining area in the back. Ordered a large pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms, well done. Usual condiments aren't on the table, but near the self serve drink area. Parmesan cheese, red pepper, salt and pepper are all in packets, which turned out just fine. There's a pretty good amount of cheese in those little packs. The pizza was ready in around 10-15 minutes, and was really good. The cheese is tasty, the sauce is flavorful, and the crust isn't too thick or thin. The also have a lunch pizza buffet which looked good, but it ends at 1:30 PM and we arrived at 1:15 PM. They still let others order it even though it was close to ending time. They also have self serve yogurt for .50 an ounce. This also includes a nice selection of toppings as well.
Everyone was friendly, and we enjoyed our visit! Thank you!
Update- we were finally able to try the lunch pizza buffet. It was wonderful!! Pizza, salad bar, soup, and some xtras like mac n cheese bites, sausage bites, bread stix, steak and mushroom gravy, etc. Drink is included and it was $12 November 2021. Six of us went for the buffet and they kept it well stocked. You do your own drink refills as well. Pizzas rotate, but they had pepperoni, BBQ chicken, sausage, and a deluxe available when we went. We all left happy and well fed!
They also offer (dine in and takeout) gluten free and low carb crusts in a 10" size, which are tasty and surprisingly filling...
Read moreGood variety of food at decent quality. Not just good, but good enough. Nice people there.
Pizza sauce is good and dough works better for their breadsticks than the pizza itself. Sandwiches are decent and wings are excellent, but not inexpensive.
While staff is polite, the service itself needs much improvement.
Consistent issues include food missing from orders, slow attention to customers at counter, and inaccurate completion times that leave you waiting much longer than estimated. These issues happened more often than not in the years we've gone there.
When an issue was brought up (after our second trip back for a missing item), a manager graciously (and without request) gave us a credit on our next meal, so that was good of him. What wasn't so good was when he neglected to actually credit our next order and we were charged full price anyway. Didn't complain since we aren't necessarily owed a credit and did not feel it was worth saying anything anymore.
Edit: Updated stars to reflect improvements in areas I criticized previously and its standing as compared to other pizza places...
Read moreIson’s Pizza, offers traditional slightly above average pizza . Having said that their business practices and customer service are (in my opinion)questionable). My folks ordered a pizza, soda, and water. Ison’s charged 29 cents for water due to use of the glass. What was once a small hometown Batesville, now is trying to emulate big town prices. For a fact, I know cities such as Columbus, Cincinnati , Detroit, Indianapolis, and larger more where water is more scarce like Phoenix, California, Nevada, etc do not charge to use a glass, water, or ice. If your expecting to not pay for water; bring your own glass. The hydration might be easier to swallow if not for the mistreatment of a veteran. After paying the bill, my father, not only a war vet but an individual who devoted his life to helping others (retired fireman) asked if he too could get a military discount. The response,” Yeah, no you already paid, a refund isn’t possible?!? Are you kidding me?!? Sad and disappointed to see the place I was both raised and grew up in is no longer hometown, veteran, or military...
