Really awful experience. I haven't even tried the food yet. I can tell you that I won't be back. I placed an order at 5:45. I was informed it would be ready for pickup at 6:20. I arrived to find a nearly empty restaurant, except for one table that seemed to be mostly ignored by the staff. I was assured that my order would be just another minute. Which is reasonably enough. After all, I had showed up at 6:19.
But I sat around and waited for about 10 more minutes. Still nothing.
I'm then asked what I ordered.. Not a good sign.
As far as I could tell, there was only one order ahead of me. And this seem to be confirmed later. By the time I order was ready to take home, it had been an hour since I had placed the order. And I had sat there waiting and their restaurant for 26 minutes.
1 hour. To prepare two simple noodle dishes. You call up just about any other Thai place regardless of the hour, and they will tell you that that order will be ready in 15 minutes. And when you show up 15 minutes later it's already been sitting there waiting for you.
An hour from the time and order is placed, to the time it is ready is completely unacceptable. A 26-minute wait for it to go order is completely unacceptable. I wouldn't even wait that long if I was seated in the dining room at a table ordering my food. I feel like a moron for having waited this time. Keep in mind, this restaurant is 10 minutes from my home. If you add it up, I spent 46 minutes picking up that food.. Time is money. And as far as I'm concerned, this place was a waste of time and a waste of money. Had I not already paid in advance for my order, I would have just walked out. With so many other wonderful options around town, I can't see why anyone would bother with this place....
Read moreWe needed to use the laundromat next door for an oversized comforter. It was lunch and thought we'd wait it out and grab a bite here. I am SO glad we did. Started out with a huge complimentary pot of hot tea upon seating and after looking everything over, we put in for the dumplings and two pho soups. The lovely and friendly owner/chef dropped off some homemade wontons (on the house) along with our dumplings that were steaming hot and not remotely greasy. They were full of chicken and fresh vegetables and the dipping sauce was fantastic. The pho was next and it was off the chain fresh. Cabbage, carrot, onions, wontons, cauliflower and cilantro were a nice balance. The broth was savory, salty, umami and spicy (you add the peanuts and chili sauce yourself) and it was perfect for the endless rain we've had this week. Noodles were tender and gave the right kind of slurp ratio you want in a soup like this. The whole experience was absolutely fantastic. Cannot wait to go back and has easily become our new go-to for Thai food. Menu is robust and dishes that went out to other tables looked crave-worthy. Oh, and the bluegrass music that was playing was so random that it made the whole vibe cool. Don't just do take out â do the experience. Seriously, come find this out of...
