A local diner in a locals neighborhood with local clientele. From the outside, the feint of heart might be troubled. Inside, you find a clean and carefully kept restaurant which is comfortable and familiar to those of us who love diners. I'd call Jessica a waitress but she seems to do everything up front while serving tables and greeting customers by name. She doesn't shout orders to Chris in the back because a closer look shows the discrete modernized setup this old place holds. The food was fresh, hot and well prepared. They're not trying to impress you with fancy, just give you a great breakfast that's worth the money you pay.

We arrived at 11:45 am on a rainy Sunday and the place was pretty busy. This is a seat-yourself kind of a place and most tables have a quick turn. The waitress was very friendly and quickly took our order. We ordered a haddock sandwich (make sure to ask for lettuce and tomato otherwise it’s just the haddock and buns), a BLT, a grilled cheese, an SOS special (sausage over a biscuit, smothered in gravy, 2 eggs and home fries - a lot of food!), and a haddock chowder (the chowder is more watery than creamy and more towards the bland taste)

When we arrived, about an hour after they opened, we were greeted by a smiling waitress. The place was busy, however, she kept smiling and waited on the whole place herself. A second waitress arrived after a bit. Both ladies were pleasant. The food was delicious. The coffee was good and strong. Prices were reasonable. We would definitely eat there again.

I am revising my review as directed by the owner of The Galley Restaurant. I have added another star for the wonderful response I received from the owner. I will return someday for breakfast again. I feel like the coffee machine may need to be cleaned or investigated to remove the bitter taste from the coffee. Patrons, most of the time the coffee has a smooth delicious flavor. I really don’t know what happened to the coffee on my last visit, but I believe it will be investigated and corrected. Thank you for reading my concerns and addressing them in your thoughtful response. You made me feel heard and that is huge to me as a community member! I will return again. I know Mr. John will cook me another PERFECT western omelette again! Ty for restoring my confidence in your most iconic hang out! I no longer feel let down or disappointed!☮️🕊️♥️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🇺🇸

I just left the Galley. My husband and I had breakfast. We both ordered the western omelette with home fries and toast. I’m so DISAPPOINTED!😔 The last time I came here the food was amazing! Mr. McIntire was the cook. It was the best western omelette I ever had! He had the perfect amount of grease in the omelette. Not too much. Not too little. PERFECT. The coffee was delicious and fresh. I couldn’t stop talking about the coffee the last time I ate here. Today the coffee was old. It was so bitter and nasty I could not believe they were serving it! Not at all from what I remembered last time. Two women were cooking. They burned our omelette’s and tried hiding it by serving the half burned side up. The omelette had no oil or butter in it. It was just a dried ,rubbery ,mealy mess! I could not eat it. The toast was fresh and delicious. The home fries were very good. They put rosemary in with the caramelized onions. That was a nice addition . I love the Galley bc this is where the community of Bath comes. Everyone knows each other. I did not have the heart to complain bc the service of the staff was excellent. The quality of the cooking and the coffee situation was terrible! What happened to the coffee??? I wish Mr. McIntire was cooking…..😫 I will never eat here again. My husband was disappointed that I told him I will never come back here. He just loves seeing all our community members. My hope is that someone at the Galley reads this and at the very least investigate what happened to...

I recently had the opportunity to hold a free Easter basket book raffle at the local restaurant “The Galley”, Bath, ME. The Galley’s owner and staff were excited and supportive of show casing the “Sold Soul” book. This book cornerstones the cause of domestic abuse awareness and can’t be found on Amazon. The outcome was a success. I am grateful.

My family and I have been dining at The Galley since I was a child. The food was made with fresh ingredients and the taste is exceptional. One of my favorites is the hash and cheese omelette that I inhale. It is served with their hand cut crispy home fries (mine with onions) and raisin . I cannot forget the endless cup of coffee that is served by their attentive staff who is always keeping an eye on an empty cup.

You will always find the service is impeccable along with the ambiance of warmth and welcoming feeling one gets when entering their door. The staff greets you with a smile every time. It is a perfect way to start your day whether it be breakfast or lunch (try the haddock sandwich). The prices are reasonable, food top notch and excellent service. A worth the visit local restaurant! After many years of coming to the Galley I have very sadly had my last visit without calling ahead to see who’s working, which no customer should have to do... My fiancé and I come in regularly and have our usual waitress Jess Adams (strawberry blonde hair.) We have never been disappointed by her or her service. Always punctual and friendly, food comes out in a timely manner and observing she’s able to keep herself together even if she’s the only waitress. The last two times we’ve come in we were served by a thin girl with long black hair, (I believe her name is also Jess.) The last two times we’ve come in we’ve also left extremely disappointed and today being the worse of the two. I thought I’d share the experience. Around 9:30 we were seated, 9:45 rolls around and the waitress comes over and asks us if we know what we’d like to have.. (No drinks first?) we place our normal orders, and we wait. Three different groups of folks come in after us, after our order is put in to be more specific... 45 minutes roll by and two tables who have come in after us are served their food, and we’re sitting confused and now hungry...!?! Maybe this wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t our usual spot, and if I wasn’t 9 months pregnant. But at this point, 10 additional minutes have gone by, I’ve now drank my full cup of water, and my fiancé has finished his OJ and coffee. Ding! The bell goes off for an order up and nope, still not ours! Now this is the third table to receive their food. This is the SECOND visit with the same waitress that this has happened. The first time it happened we brushed it off and tried not to let it upset us, and it was only 2 other parties fed before us, but today was too disappointing. I WILL return, but ONLY to see Jess Adams. As a returning customer I should not have to call ahead to see who’s working because I’ve been continually let down by one particular staff member. We love the Galley and it’s very sad that I’ve even had to make a poor review as someone who’s been coming in for...
