Finding parking can be really difficult as they have a small dirt lot thats riddle with holes that’s behind the restaurant facing Saint Rose Ave. I had to opt for street parking.
Upon walking through, I was met with such a lovely all outdoor seating area with fans and misters. There’s a little water station to get cold water, napkins, utensils, and etc. The bathrooms are clean.
The ordering process is easy. Just order at the window and if you order any alcoholic drinks, just step over to the second window. You will be given a number stand and just have a seat anywhere. They brought out our food fairly quickly. If you need more chips, just ask!
Out of all the dips, my favorite was the guacamole. It was chunky and flavorful. Salsa was great. The queso was okay. You can make it spicy but they add this hot oil to it. Chips were light and crispy.
The fish taco was so crispy and they were generous with my portion. The salsa verde that they give on the side is so good. I highly recommend this one!!
The mushroom taco was okay. It was grilled with the hot oil so it was a lot spicier then I was anticipating to where my nose was running a bit.
The line was constantly about 10 people on a taco Tuesday so pretty busy till the sunset. It’s termite season so they are swarming. We took it as our cue to leave since they were flying into our hair and food.
Overall, my friends and I had a great time drinking margaritas, having good tacos and such a great outdoor vibe to relax...
Read moreThe parking lot is quite small, and many use the neighborhood streets alongside as "street parking," so be warned! That's its only downside. It's a taco stand with outdoor seating, connected to a plant nursery with potted plants for ambiance (and for sale), and seating in the shared courtyard. Restrooms were clean. You order food from the stand itself and take a number, and your food is brought to you when it's finished being prepared. Food was tasty with quality ingredients and was made fresh to order. I am spice sensitive, and I was able to eat the marinated chicken with no issue, but most of the offerings are marinated in or come with chile peppers (types are stated on in the online menu). There is also a simple and good cojita cheese quesadilla that you can order extra or as part of a kids plate. For margaritas, they make a flavor of the day (today's was blood orange). Mixed great to where it wasn't overly alcohol tasting but also not sugary sweet. Porch warmers fueled by propane tanks are around for warmth in the winter evenings. There is a variety of seating options including 2 person small tables, 2-3 person medium tables, and picnic tables for families or groups, all spaced well with room to feel like you're not in another group's "space." Food is served on good quality disposable plates with plastic silverware, but tops for the plates and bags to carry leftovers are available. Overall a nice experience....
Read moreCrave this place ever since I first came! The taste of the tacos are very consistent, which is always appreciate. The staff is friendly and will engage back with you when chatting. It’s also cool that if you’re sitting and chatting with friends that someone from staff will come around and offer to pick up the trash. Always has been very clean whenever I’ve gone. The heaters also work great when it’s colder outside - can’t wait for it to be a little warmer. Michelada is great, but has been slightly different every time I’ve been, which is the only “complaint” I’d have. I think you need to specify how you want it iced/made. The salsa and queso are SO good! The guac, since I last had it, could use a bit more flavoring. Was a little bland but yummy if you mix it with your tacos. Their sauce that comes with the tacos is delicious, also. If you’re someone who doesn’t like a little spice, it may not be your favorite. For to-go orders, they pack it very nicely and clean. I do wish parking was a bit better, but to be expected in mid city. You can park behind the barber shop usually. Overall, love coming here and enjoy...
