Been wanting to try African cuisine for a long time now, so I came here to do so. I drove all the way from another city, might I add. Despite the business saying theyāre open and having the lights on inside and the āopenā sign on, I walk up to the door to go in and itās locked. Thereās a sign on the door that says theyāre only taking orders over the phone with a number to call on said sign. I wanted to talk to someone inside that could explain the different menu options to me being that Iāve never had African food before, therefore, I needed help figuring out what I wanted. However, I followed the signās directions anyway. I called the number a few times just for it to go straight to voicemail. This unprofessionalism(along with the numerous reviews from other customers that speak on the serve unprofessionalism of this business as well) has turned me completely off to patronizing this establishment. I try to support black businesses as much as possible, but businesses like this make it almost impossible to do so due to being subpar at best. If I were you, Iād try somewhere else instead of rolling the dice on getting good service(or any service at all)...

Within 5 minutes I received a text that my order was ready. I ordered pepper soup with goat, and peanut soup with chicken and added a Jollif rice when I went inside. The lady was not happy that I did that, but proceeded. She told me $29 and cash app to her. She bagged my rice, and I left without checking. When I opened it, I had someone elseās order. This order was plantain, sweet tots, and two tiny bones of what might have been goat. I offered to keep what I had but with a refund of my difference, to keep from returning. Although I texted my cash app. I still has to request it from her else I wouldnāt have gotten it. I tried to make the best of it, but those two tough, unseasoned bones had me bent for $15.00. The rice was tomato rice, but the plantain and sweet tot was good. Basically I paid a total of $24 for sides! ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was very excited to try authentic African food and it did not disappoint. I called after going thru the reviews and placed my order. The owner was very sweet and texted me when the order was ready. This is not a dine in restaurant so when i got to the door I asked if I could come in. She was very pleasant.
The flavor profiles were very different from anything Iāve ever tried so I canāt compare it to any other type of food. We had the pepper soup w/beef and the egusi w/goat. Both with Fufu. My daughters were excited to eat with our hands as weāve seen people do on YouTube š
Pepper soup is a thin flavorful broth served with tender beef portions. I liked it but the egusi was my fav I really liked the consistency of this dish. The goat meat was super tender and and it was seasoned well. It has some type of greens in it and pumpkin seeds I think.
Although both dishes were small, they had a good portion of meat.
