Captain Hook wings and shrimp — Restaurant in Baton Rouge

REVIEW UPDATE!!!!!

I called the restaurant the next day to let them know what happened and the young lady assured me that I can bring the food back for a replacement.

When I made it to the restaurant, I spoke with the owner and he seemed sincere in his apologies! Even offered a drink and/or a dessert while I wait.. He seems to take customers reviews seriously when necessary. My food was quickly replaced. Just before closing up my PAN of food(because he added EXTRAS for the mishap), he made sure to get my approval. I'm so glad everyone responded well, from the cashier on up! I'll give the place another chance and change my star ratings but next time I'll be sure to check things out before leaving. Thank you so much for the quick response and replacing my food a day later!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would!! I am totally disappointed and disgusted! I should've known to look in my bag for food.. should've known because they tied the bag in a knot that it would be some bs because usually I get my food in a paper bag. I spent $25 on a jumbo shrimp dinner that was burned beyond edibleness! And since it was an hour before closing, I can't return the food. But what I will do is take that mess back tomorrow and ask for a refund. I always keep receipts. Why serve something like that knowing if you went somewhere and got some mess like that, you wouldn't want it yourself. The worst part is I had to pull around and wait on it!!! So my ish was HOT AND BURNT!!!!! ILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE...

Ordered the Tuesday special, which was 1fried fish filet w/fried shrimp and fries. Also ordered chicken gizzards, and churros. The Tuesday special: The fried shrimp and fries were pretty tasty along with the hook sauce. Now the fish fillet was a different story. The breading was hard and dry, especially on the ends.The fish itself was dry on the ends as well, only ate the middle portion. Don’t know what kind of fish it was, but I do know it was not catfish, for the flesh was too stringy. The chicken gizzards: They were very tough to chew, however they were seasoned well. I did not eat them, and I do not recommend them. The churros: Prior to paying for and receiving the churros, the attendant failed to tell me they were out of the caramel dipping sauce that supposed to come with the order. Even though I was very disappointed in being uninformed, I kept the order. However, I wish that I didn’t, because the churros were dry and lacked flavor. Don’t know if the sauce would have made a difference. It was my first time trying out this restaurant, so I will give them another chance by trying out other items...

The wings are amazing. I ordered the wings dinner (even though it’s just wings and fries) and the wings are amazing. Hot and fresh and still crispy when I brought it back to my Airbnb. Only issue I had was with the young lady that took my order. I don’t know if I was disturbing her or what but she was rude. I ask about the wings when I first walked in and she just pointed to the monitors over the counter. 2 out of three were working so I didn’t see the wings option on there, just happened to look down and saw the take out menu. When I finally received my order I asked for hot sauce and she just kinda rolled her eyes.. well when I asked to buy a second hot sauce she rolled her eyes again and just handed me another one without saying anything.. Don’t get me wrong the wings is great and I would have loved to try everything else they had to offer but I don’t think I’ll be coming back for the remainder of my business trip here if customer service...
