I'll give this restaurant 2 stars because the food appeared fresh and the service was friendly enough. This restaurant looks clean on the outside. Empty however in the evening time.
What saddened me is that I ordered the number 1. The chicken tender sliders with fries (drink not included for $13.99 lol) THE CHICKEN HAD NO FLAVOR. I can't wrap my mind around how food can look seasoned yet, have no flavor...just bland. The flavor came from the bread and pickles.
The sauces didn't solve the problem. (There were 4 in the bag). There was what appeared to be a signature sauce (mayo and spices) this had no discernable flavor. The honey mustard was flavorful but honestly felt out of place. The ketchup was great with the fries of course. I'm not sure what the honey was for.
I almost forgot, they have people sign a waiver before trying their spiciest seasoning. It's a good thing no one else was in line because I can't imagine how it would go if business was heavy and they're asking people to read and sign papers.
To close, this restaurant appears to have a great gimmick going (it reminds me of Small Sliders meets Raisen Cane's- for heat lovers). They just need to do something about the flavors. When I hear "blazing hot", I imagine flavor. I don't see myself...
Read moreBeen waiting for a competitive hot chicken spot for about a year now, I can say Baton Rouge finally got it. I came in for the soft opening and got top quality service right off the bat. To be fair, it wasn’t too crowded due to the soft opening but my table was checked on about 10 times by staff members during a 45 minute stay.
As far as the chicken, I went with the 3 tender combo with 2 extra hot and 1 hot. They don’t lie with the term “JUMBO TENDERS”, the things were huge. Chicken came out piping hot, one of my friends wasn’t able to touch the surface. The hot tenders are definitely going to be the fan favorite, packed with flavor and bring more of a tingly kind of spice. Extra hot ones were a little too much spice for me, but the quality of the chicken didn’t waver. Each piece was equally hot, crunchy, juicy, and tender. Owner saw me struggling and brought me a sample of a milkshake, it was an awesome interaction.
Will be coming back to try that mac n cheese wrap. I see this place being that spot to go after a night of tigerland due to them being open super late. Can’t wait to see this place pop off!
Side note: Artwork is incredible, you just have to see it for yourself. Kudos to whoever designed that interior work, very warm...
