I came in around 8 pm. There was one open table, but I had to wait for 15 minutes to get a table. I am not sure about the policy of this restaurant, but it is acceptable. I ordered sake(salmon) nigiri and kanpeki ramen. While sushi's temperature and flavor were great, but I had to question the way of cut and trim. Never seen a skin on salmon before, even at the high-end sushiya. Ramen was made by the factory, all the way, hopefully/unhopefully at the same time, except the egg and enoki. Broth, seasoning, noodles, menma, shiitake, and chili were typical store-bought materials. Chashu was questionable, but I assume that it is also store-bought but just torched after warming them up. Noodles were not fully taken care of. It was sticking together, and it was a whole stuff under the soup. I assume that the chef took it out too early before the soup and toppings getting ready. But egg. Oh my, the reason why I said hopefully and unhopefully at the same time is because of its flavor. If you bought it from a store, throw them away. If not, your chef needs to learn a basic fundamental of cooking from the beginning again. Ajitamago is meant to be raw for yolk, just like a sunny side up fried egg. Besides the fact it was fully cooked, the biggest problem it had was its flavor. It was sour. I wasn't sure if the flavor was coming from its condition or a mistake during the prep. But it was too sour, so I don't even want to have another bite of it. The only reason why I am giving 2 stars is because of the server's attitude. Unfortunately, I forgot her name, but she was being really nice while she was catching up the workload. Mistakes can happen. I hope it was just a mistake on one night. Thank you for the meal.

We went in today because we had gotten a $50 voucher for the restaurant. When we got there we tried to place a to-go order with the voucher and were told it can only be used for dine in (despite it not mentioning it anywhere on the website or the voucher). Essentially we were forced to dine in as there are no refunds for the voucher once it’s purchased. The service was ok other than the fact the host who we did not get his name, a young Asian man with glasses, was being very passive aggressive the whole time. It was like as soon as we mentioned we were using the voucher he stopped being polite. Including giving us the smallest to go box possible when we finished eating that would clearly not fit all our food unless we stacked it all on top of each other while we looked over and saw other people with bigger normal sized boxes and ignoring us when we had tried to get his attention. Unfortunately based on that experience I would never come back to the place. Not only is that false advertising but the attitude of this host was really off putting. We shouldn’t be forced to dine in if it’s not specifically stated on the voucher and met with petty actions in retaliation for asking for a to go box when all we wanted was to get our food and go in the first place.

Never has a bad experience been so good. My wife and I went to Umami's for the first time and were immediately seated on the patio as we requested, and our waitress was very prompt and took our drink order. Then when the drinks came out, we placed our order. Unfortunately, it took over an hour before we got our food, which would typically be unacceptable. HOWEVER, both the waitress and the manager, let us know that they had several sushi chet's out and they were really backed up, and asked if there was anything they could do, or if we wanted to switch our order. We decided to wait and stick with our origianl order, but again both our waitress and the manage stopped by our table repeatedly to let us know they had not forgot about us, and the chefs were doing their best, they were just short handed due to Covid. Once we received our food, everything was excelent. The manger comped us a couple drinks and again appologized for the delay. I was an incredible wait, but our waitress and manager but were johnny on the spot and kept us informed. We will...
