Iâd just gotten into Baton Rouge after an eight hour drive from Atlanta and decided to try this place because itâs a small business and women led.
Upon walking in we were not welcomed. Being someone who has worked closely with small business and also corporation this has always been important to me. It was more of an awkward silence and me greeting myself into the establishment while the workers just stared at me. A friendly welcome would have been appreciated. For the owner.. around 3 pm, July 3.
This could have been because I wasnât wearing a mask. I was unaware it was a Baton Rouge mandate and it surprised me that they didnât inform us upon coming in.
The decor is awesome. This is a place I would study at regularly if I were local. I love the art, the layout, the room with the couches, the small library, the lighting. I think itâs great this shop displays local art for sale as I am one myself.
The coffee, itâs okay. We ordered a dirty chai and a regular latte. The latte was sour - almost as if the shot was dead or the machine wasnât pulling right. My dirty chai was fine. Itâs a sweeter drink so there isnât much to comment on.
As far as price and size go I read repeatedly that theyâre one of the cheapest in town. We ordered medium iced drinks but itâs smaller than a Starbucks grande and smaller than a small at previous establishments Iâve been to. $5 and change for it. If the cup were a little bigger I wouldnât mind the charge, but it just didnât seem worth it because the coffee wasnât spectacular.
The cake balls looked beautiful. I didnât try any but they were tempting. Several flavors available and made at the shop.
All in all, I wish I could rate a 3.5. It was between a 3-4 and I didnât give the four because of the mediocre service and mediocre coffee. Atmosphere is fantastic though. I wish you guys...
Read moreI am a Brew Ha-Ha super fan. I am here at least 2-4 times a week. I don't live close by any means, but I make the drive for this place. The beverages are the best I have had from a specialty coffee shop in Baton Rouge. Actually, the best I've had ANYWHERE (I'm looking at you iced strawberry matcha). The vibe, color scheme, and music here is literally the embodiment of me as a person. I have never felt so connected to a place before. All of the employees are just the sweetest! I assume they are the one's who play the music (which is great because it seems like we have the same music taste). Every time I come in, I end up adding new songs to my playlist. On occasion, I will talk to the baristas about the songs and we all start fangirling. Those interactions really make my day. Also, local artists display their work for sale! New artwork is constantly flowing in and out. Not only does that give the artists amazing opportunities for exposure, but it means that every few months or so this place has a slightly refreshed atmosphere! So cool. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone looking for good drinks and OMG the cake balls! How could I forget about the cake balls? They are scrumptious and they come in so many unique flavors like lemon blueberry, cinnamon roll, and a lot more (including seasonal)! This place is truly exceptional. I am here right now procrastinating on my homework, so I thought I would write an ode to my favorite place. Tell everyone you know to come to...
Read moreI can't help but to reiterate how awesome this place is. I've been going there since the day it opened, and to this day, it's run with the same excitement and enthusiasm as it did the first day it was open. Everyone who works here, especially the owner, is so friendly, always smiling, always in a good mood, and always goes above and beyond the service received anywhere else just to make sure you get what you want and to make sure you're happy. It's easy for all the positive energy to rub off on you and make you happy no matter how bad your day is going. I could be having the worst day of my life, but spending 5 minutes here always lifts my spirits and gives me the energy to finish the day. And no, it's not the...
