This was the WORST Chinese food I’ve ever had in my life & NEVER will I go back. This was my first time ordering since new owners took over & not only are their prices quite a bit higher, their food is absolutely disgusting & nothing like the previous owners. I never leave reviews but after paying $40 for 2 sesame chickens & an order of crab Rangoons (supposed to come with 6 but only gave me 5!) & it all literally being inedible, I’m quite upset since I had to fix another meal so my kids can eat. The sesame chicken sauce now tastes like a rancid sweet and sour sauce that is so thick that it’s gel like, & the lo mein is made of this thick noodles that taste like mush. If they were still open (it’s past 10 now) I’d drive back to the restaurant in Baton Rouge from Denham (I drove 30 minutes to Baton Rouge just to good Chinese but instead got this) to have my $ reimbursed for this inedible meal! Once China One customers go there to eat once they definitely won’t return, and such a shame bc the previous owners’ food was amazing. I feel bad leaving such a negative review bc the owner was very kind, but the food is God awful and no one in my family would eat it.

Good… I was very impressed with the food. Very good quantity for the price and delicious. My wife and I did not see the sign at the door "No eating or drinking outside food allowed". My 11-year-old son still doesn't like Chinese food, for that reason he decided to go to the next door restaurant. After he got his sandwich we placed our order. We told him to sit at our table and start eating while we got our order. The guy at the front desk called us to get the order and told my wife that no food was allowed from outside, even, he point out the sign. My wife explained to him my son's decision and the fact that we were travelers, not from Louisiana. After a 2 minute conversation, the guy who took the order, allowed us to stay and enjoy the food and enjoy lunch as a family. Absolutely won't do it again and will eat every time we pass through Baton Rouge!!! Thank you China One.

3/7/24 I usually come for the fabulous lunch buffet! For about 11 bucks you can build your own box with classic American style Chinese staples like egg rolls, beef and bell pepper, fried rice, and more! This is the location of the BEST SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN IN THE CITY! I don't know what's in the batter but their version of this dish is leagues above others in town. A light and crisp outer layer and then soft and pillowy and then juicy chicken bathed in a standard red dipping sauce. Out of this world! They also make the best MEI FUN in the city! I just ask for no curry!

Man, it breaks my heart to write a bad review about this restaurant because it is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants to go too in Baton Rouge. This is an absolute honest review on this establishment. THEY HAVE AWESOME FOOD. DELICIOUS, HOT, AND CHEAP EVERY TIME. Very very very good food. They get a star for cleaniness and delicious food. However, that mean anything if every time i place the order the employees are rude and dont value you as a customer. There use to be a young kind gentleman that worked the cash register. He was very nice and friendly, but he went away to college. The new cashier is an older Chinese woman and she is very rude and i believe racist. I did not notice it until our 3rd encounter. I thought she was just a mean and grumpy lady, but Ive seen with my own eyes how she was very nice and professional, I mean she had a big smiled and laughed with the white customers that came in...but had such a mean and nasty attitude towards the black customer. I wouldnt believe it i didnt see it or experienced it with my own eyes. I hate to say today is my last time eating here, because the food is great.... but Im one of those people. I worked hard for my money and I rather give it to a place that appreciate my business and value me as a customer. I hope this review is useful to whoever...

First things first I am from NYC. They have some of the best of the best especially when it comes to Chinese food, so I was looking for a spot for a very long time now down here in Baton Rouge and let me tell you I DONT GO ANYWHERE ELSE since I've got a plate of food from here. This is my go to spot fo Chinese and it is so so so good, everything I've tried so far I knew would be good before I even got it. that's how confident I am in trying anything they have on the menu. Boneless spare ribs, Shrimp lo main, and General too chicken are my favorite meals fo far from here you should definitely try it out for yourself, you will not be disappointed. Best part you can call in your order over the phone and it will be ready in 10-15 mins depending on what you get so its very fast and no wait times. Dont get me wrong iv head Tokyo grill also and they don't have this sort of menu option like they do here so that's why I love this place so much more, options...
