City Roots Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Baton Rouge

I used to come here every day after high school, now I’m finishing college in New Orleans and I’m trying to think of any coffee shop in the city that will give me something half as good as city roots. All of their specialty drinks were really good and never too sweet but were creamy and the coffee they roast is SOOOO robust and it takes over lattes and cappuccinos in the best way. I’ve never had a coffee drink I liked half as much as city roots. I’ve tired of every coffee shop in New Orleans, or they fall off the end and go the way of the once great envie and flora (as in, watery flavorless cups of milk) and all I want on this hot summer day is a city roots iced latte. I didn’t appreciate you while I had you, city roots, but now that I’m an hour drive away...

First time trying Crème Brûlée Latte. Initially, I was concerned it might be overly sweet due to the caramel and vanilla flavors. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the perfect balance between the delicate sweetness of the crème brûlée topping and the rich, robust flavor of the freshly brewed coffee beans.

The caramel and vanilla notes complement the espresso beautifully without overpowering it, creating a smooth and sophisticated taste experience. The latte’s creamy texture paired with a subtle caramel used sugar crust on top adds a delightful contrast that makes each sip uniquely satisfying.

City Roots Coffee Bar clearly puts care into both the quality of their coffee beans and the craftsmanship behind each beverage. I’m already looking forward to...

Following an event nearby, a friend and I stopped in for a coffee and a bite (for me). Taking my friend's advice I ordered the mocha latte; on my own I selected the succulent looking crumb cake.

Both were excellent. The mocha latte was cocoa rich, the crumb cake moist, crunchy in the right way, and spicy rich.

Sitting outside and chatting with friends who happened to be there added to my enjoyment. I could have done without the dude who HAD to drive past us, which required moving our table and chairs.

that guy and all drivers who don't care about driving in designated pedestrian zones! May they all rot in a hell of their own making.
