I had the pleasure of eating KOK Wings & Things. My significant other was in the area and thought it would be cool to try out. Although he asked was I sure after seeing that the price was double that of Empire Wingz which is one of my favorites, I told him since he was already there, go ahead and get them instead of using more gas to go to Empire, plus I like new eateries, especially if they are awesome. The presentation of the to-go wings and fries were great. The taste of the fries though were okay, I don't like fries on the sweet side if they aren't sweet potatoes, and although different, I still wanted more of a pepper taste. He got me the hottest wings they have and the lemon pepper wings. They didn't disappoint me, they were fried the way I like. The only draw back was the sweetness associated with their sauces on the wings and seasoning on the fries. The wings were not soggy or small as can be the case with wings from Wingstop or Pluckers, and they had a good amount of sauce so that I could taste the flavor. Was it worth the $20+ dollars with no drink included, can't really say, but it was filling enough. I do prefer Empire Wingz and the fact that I could have gotten almost double with drinks included for the family to try. Would I go there again? Nah, they were good to try at least once but I like the price point, taste, fry and flavor from my normal wing spot.

I love coming here but service has definitely changed from I'm used to. Came with a group of six but we all ordered separately. Even though I was the second person to order, my food came last while two people in my group had enough time to finish off their food. No one else was sitting inside when we got there so unless there was a lot of online orders, I don't see a reason why my food came a good 10-15 minutes later. It was just a basic boneless wings combo. Something to note about the menus they provide when you walk in. They don't have all the sauces listed and tell you just to look online. It was fairly hard to do so off their site because it would make you basically put in a pseudo order to look at the options so we just went on Yelp to look at photos people had taken of the previous menus. Dining area was mainly ok. No one was there so we just sat at a random table to fit our group. I'm not sure if we came after a big rush but the floor was really sticky as our shoes kept sticking and it was hard to move the chairs back unless we physically stood up and moved the chair back to give ourselves from sitting so close to the table. Food though was absolutely great. I love getting the brucial sauce on my wings and the portion sizes match the prize.

Definitely one of the best black-owned restaurants I’ve ever been to. The environment wasn’t forced the employees and managers weren’t forced, definitely and authentic vibe that not many people can create for their establishment. Not to mention the food and drinks alone shut me up, the catfish sliders ? Loaded? Were insane, perfect texture of fish, most places either fry it too hard or it’s slimy, the loaded fries were everything. We had a drink called “The showstopper” and just one glass had us feeling amazing ! They do not skim on the alcohol while making sure it isn’t too overpowering. The managers Olivia and Meme made sure we were taken care of and even the owners came over to introduce themselves and make sure our experience was remarkable. I will definitely be coming back to patronize every chance I get, I’m still dreaming about those fish sliders !

So I cam into KOK wings and things the other day. I've been meaning to try this place for about 2 years now, but got the chance recently to do so. For how much I hear about it, the advertising, the great food that I hear about from this place. It must be the best wing place in the Acadian/ Baton Rouge area right? I ordered through the site and was greeted by a lot of flavors, I got sweet heat buffalo, I believe. The price for 10 wings was $19.99 which is INCREDIBLY overpriced food. Where as I can go to hooters and get a 20 piece for $24.99. I ordered ranch and buffalo fries as "loaded fries", and cheese sticks which came in 5 and costed $8 for some reason... Anyway, I went up to the host stand, I didn't get a smile, nor welcome, nor hi to the establishment. The service was uninteresting. Employees on their phone, as someone who has been practicing food safety for 6 years. KOK Wings and Things were NOT following food safety guidlines at all. I got the order three minutes after it was said it was done by TOAST. I got my order and opened up the box. It was a big serving of food, pertaining to the fries and wings. Other than that, I really wasn't all that interested. No napkins, no utensils by the way... Anyway, the wings where not good at all. Definitely not worth $20. It had a smoky, sweet, buffalo flavor to it. Not a big fan of the sauce, but defintely not a fan of the tenderness of the wing and size for $20. I went to try the fries, they were SO drenched in the sauce. I was afraid they would get soggy, they didn't for 15 minutes. But the ranch/ buffalo flavor was not a good combo, which is weird. but that is an amazingly big size for fries, regarding to portion. Then I tries to cheese sticks. The cheese sticks were something you can get for $4 at walmart and get 10 in a pack. The cheese sticks were small and definetly not worth the $8. I was so frustrated with the place, I dont think I will be going back anytime soon. KOK needs to do a better job with customer service, food safety, and quality of food if this how much their 10 piece...
