My 3 stars are based on the overall experience at the new spot. I arrived around 10:30 am on a Friday and got one of the last parking spots in the restaurant’s parking lot, otherwise there is parking across the street. A line started to form around 10:50. I got in line and was about the 10th person. The restaurant didn’t open until 11:20. By this time the line had about 40 people. Once in, there were 2 registers taking orders. One to the left and one to the right. We watched the servers fix plates and stack them up, however after a period of time we discovered that these plates were for phone and online orders. After waiting for approximately 30 minutes, several customers began getting frustrated. About 45 minutes in, with no in person customer receiving their order, customers began to express their frustration. The employees also began to express frustration. The older lady taking orders immediately began to offer refunds, WOW! By this point I just had to see what the food was all about🤣🤣 I know I know! I’m a foodie! The first in line customer received her order about 50 minutes in. She had the same number as me. #40. We were told even though we had the same number, the register we ordered from was different. So both registers were using the same numbers and putting the tickets in one pile for the servers. I think this caused a lot of confusion. Now my daughter met me for lunch on her lunch break but she had to leave because her lunch was over and we were still waiting. I decided to stick it out. 😬😬 After another 15-20 minutes I decided it was time to get a refund, however the next order up was mine. Now I had originally decided to eat in but all of the tables were occupied by people waiting on their food. I took a bite in the car but by this point I couldn’t enjoy. Later that evening I warmed my food up and let me tell y’all, I GET THE HYPE!! Man oh man oh man!! Food 10/10!! My plate was filled to the brim. I had the baked turkey leg, cornbread dressing( fixed in the large side) Yams, and Cabbage. Plate was about $18 and oh so worth it!! If you can fight through the process and don’t mind the customer service, GO ON A FRIDAY! Turkey wings and cornbread dressing!! I personally plan to go back, but no time soon 🤣🤣. I think they need to come up with another process. Maybe only in person orders during peak hours. Also order in a Piccadilly format while food is being plated and pay at the end.

This is a lil gem that give old school blue lounge feel with some really well-seasoned, great portions soul food. Order placed while listening to blues and R&B. My number was called quickly, and I sat in to enjoy the music while I ate some really good chicken alfredo with delicious green beans and cabbage. If you're looking for good food and a low key chill vibe with southern soul music, this is your place. I hate I couldn't enjoy a drink like the others because I was on lunch, so I have to return to rectify that.

The vibeeeee is so nice 🔥 the music, food, and drinks are to die for. I ordered the pork chop sandwich and it was so good ..the only thing I didn’t like was the added mashed potatoes on the pork chop. If I would’ve known, I would’ve asked them not to put that on it. My coworkers ordered the smothered pork chops, rice, and cabbage. The music is perfect! I jammed the entire time while my coworkers and I ate our food. Did I mention that the food is inexpensive? I’m definitely returning whenever I come to BR again 💃🏾

I recently dined at DC Eats, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. The pricing of the dishes did not align with the quality or quantity of the food served. In particular, the chicken wings were not only overpriced but also lacked proper preparation. Some wings even had physical feathers on them, which was quite off-putting. Another disappointment was the cornbread dressing, which contained hard pieces of meat, affecting the overall enjoyment of the dish.

Adding to the dissatisfaction was the extended wait time I experienced. This would have been problematic, especially if I had been on a time-sensitive lunch break. Dining out should allow for both nourishment and relaxation, but the timing issue hindered that.

On a slightly positive note, the establishment recognized the inconvenience and compensated me for my patience. While I appreciated the gesture, it would have been far better if the initial experience had been more satisfactory. In the future, I hope DC Eats takes steps to improve the overall quality of their dishes, address cleanliness concerns, and manage wait times to provide a more enjoyable dining experience for...

It was my first time here today. I wasn't very impressed.

I'll start with the good: The atmosphere was nice. The portion sizes were good. Yams ✔️ Green beans ✔️ Spaghetti and cheese ✔️

Things that were ok: Fish (wasn't crispy enough) Fries (not the best, they'll do)

👎🏽 The bad:

There's only one order taker, so it makes the line long. Plus, the order taker is also taking orders from the Doordash/Grubhub tablet at the same time. The sauce on the BBQ wings received was good but way too much. They were drowning in sauce 😮‍💨 (This may just be a personal preference of mine) The prices are nowhere to be found, and I think the order taker expected me to just know the prices 🤦🏽‍♀️ No to-go menus... I had to wait for spaghetti and cheese on a Friday during lunch when they JUST opened an hour before I got there. The lemonade is not advertised as a pineapple lemonade, JUST lemonade. I was super caught off guard by this, as I asked for an Arnold Palmer. It was also sweet enough to put you in a sugar coma...
