So I should have known something was off when I walked into a Mexican restaurant filled with older white Midwest people enjoying the food. I got a carne asada burrito my son got the kids menu enchiladas. There was nothing wrong with the food it was clean, clean place, nice staff, but it was so bland! I mean my baby’s enchiladas tasted like just ground beef no flavor not even the enchilada sauce had flavor, tasted like tomato soup poured over it. The burrito is near flavorless, comes with rice on it, and no guacamole, but in fairness I asked for their spiciest hot sauce and kept pouring that over each bite and that made it edible. I do not doubt that their chef could make better food ( it takes effort to make Mexican food “this” Midwest) but if you just moved here from San Diego like me and my family did do not eat here. There are a handful of better spots around Niña’s is alright but they are still somewhat Americanized at least they serve ceviche. The best spot in 100 miles is taco king in Ann Arbor, and if you are reading this and think “I will go check that place out” and are not from Southern California you better just shut up an screw yourself if you don’t like it. Don’t you dare go there and act like a freaking butthole ordering modifications to your food, screw your food allergies and screw you, you don’t deserve good Mexican food if you think for a moment you want it your way. You’ve already ruined Salsa’s white washing all the food with complaints and you obviously love it with its 4.4 stars, do not ruin a good place like taco king. It’s for us Californians and the native Mexicans who will drive 100 miles for a taste of home. Sorry Salasa’s and staff, I am sure it breaks your heart to make that bland food but it’s what your customer’s want so I understand, this review is just to warn people who want spicy 🌶️ food. And I understand because I was ordering enchiladas for a white 1 year old you may have toned it down even further without asking me, but he is only half white his mom is Filipina and he can already eat mild to medium fresh jalapeños and loves them. If the enchiladas had been too spicy for him we would NOT complain we would have just would have ordered an horchata and...
Read moreAte here recently with my mother. Was disappointed to find out that they don't serve alcohol here. Fine,I suppose, but not what you would expect in the area. I made the mistake of ordering the beef and cheese dip appetizer, which was a horrible mistake. The waitress brought out the bowl, which was 90% beef and 10% liquid cheese. You couldn't even scoop it onto a chip because it was so thick and heavy. We were a little disgusted, so we asked the waitress if we could have the queso dip on the side to see if we like that instead and we could mix them to our liking. The girl brought out a tiny little cup of cheese and apologized that it was so small, it was all her manager would let her give to us. On top of everything, their ground beef is disgusting, super greasy, and it made me sick just to try it. The waitress was kind and the service was alright otherwise, but that event ruined the meal. Do not support this business with your money. Literally any other Mexican place has better food and service for...
Read moreGot food the day they opened and it was great. After that it was not. I've gotten food 3 more times and tonight is the last. We asked for a burger very well done and it was still pink. We also wanted to try the sopas and the first day they were good. The last 4 we've had have been very hard and tasted like oil. Tonight we had to wait for over 30 minutes when we were told 10. Then they didn't know where our food went! They finally find it and it was all nearly cold. Then we wait another few minutes to get our change after paying. All the sopas we're hard, kids tacos were cold and cheese wasn't even melted. And the tiny cups of cheese are $1.99. I am very disappointed seeming how good the food was the first day. I live right down the road and was hoping for a good quality...
