Had a quick bite here for lunch while hanging out at the pool. Ordered the calamari for an app and fish and hips for my main course. Fish was beer battered and was crisp on the outside and light and flaky on the inside. Cooked to perfection. It came with a seasoned tarter sauce which was a great compliment, not too heavy but flavorful. 'Chips' were seasoned fries which were crisp on the outside and not soggy like other seasoned fries I've had. Fries came with ketchup and malt vinegar which made my day! I love a good malt vinegar with fries. The calamari app were very tasty. Only complaint from the people I was with is the calamari had about half rings and half tentacles which they didn't like. I don't mind the tentacles but for some it may not be to their taste. Batter was light and crispy. Came sprinkled with aoili and lime sauce which was not overbearing but tasty. Waitress was attentive and helpful. To drink I had the mango daiquiri which was tasty but a bit on the sweeter side. All outside seating with a bar you can also eat at. You can charge to your room (must show room card) or pay cash or credit. You can order to go and eat poolside or in your room. Very good food and drink. Expect to pay tourist prices but I felt it was...
Read moreRarely do I write reviews ... but the manager of this poolside restaurant and bar went out of his way to apologize and compensate for the less than stellar service of a waitress. She wasn’t even that bad , just stressed and rushed and spilled my wine and I decided not to stay. I as willing to pay for my wine and I didn’t even complain at all, just asked for my check so I could go somewhere else on the property instead. The manager came out and wouldn’t let me pay. He was super nice.
I have eaten here twice in the last week while here for two conferences in a row. The food is good, the cocktails are better but wow- the manager went over and above what I would have ever expected . He even sent chocolates and a personalized note to my room!
Very very nice and very very...
Read moreYour typical overpriced resort nonsense. I ordered the heirloom tomato salad ($19) and added chicken (+$10). The salad was fine, not large at all, but the tomatoes definitely didn’t have that delicious heirloom tomato flavor. They five slices they were able to spare the salad seemed like store bought cherry tomatoes. The real kicker is that $10 chicken that’s microwaved until the outside is hard and discolored, and is super dry and hard. It’s downright gross and in many ways insulting to pass this off. So this $30 salad was lacking in anything that would make it commensurate with the price. At least grill the chicken breast properly for the extra $10. This is just classic...
